Has anyone looked into a class action law suit regarding Benzodiazepines?

Why is it even legal for doctors to cold turkey any long term user? Now we have the issue of finding Benzo as Drug stores. only so many benzo's are allowed to each pharmacy.
Years ago I suffered for 6 mths after an attempt was made to stop my Valium in 3 days. Day 1 my heart rate, blood pressure went crazy so was admitted to the hospital. I couldn't hold i throwing up, having tremors, seizures at day 2. Day 3 a nurse comes in the room to inform me he had no benzo at all for me on day 3. The nurses weren't trained, didn't know what to expect and told me that. I got in my purse took a low mg benzo, made an appt at families inc. A specialist there, starting helping me. He gave me klonopin and seizure meds. Lots of therapy! My family doc. Left me laying in a hospital bed and he or nurses having no knowledge of how to treat me.
It took 6 mths of throwing up, tremors, I couldn't leave my bedroom. In and out of the ER for fluids. Lots of nausea meds, sleeping, and only leaving for medical attention. Losing 60 lbs at about 35 yrs old. On disability within 5 years. It ruined my life. Now I have to worry my drug store won't have my meds over 20 yrs later. So I have over 35 yrs of being perscribed benzo. I already know cold turkey don't work. But who helps me when I can't find a drug store. I have severe anxiety and panic disorder. A slue of health issues. My fear is its gonna kill long term users. I've worked on cutting down. Very slowly but with bi- polar disorder, I cant calm myself. So start my regular dose to get through a maniac episode. How will I deal now at almost 59 yrs old. Who is fighting for the people who face possible death when there are no pharmacies with their script??? What happens to patients who either take benzo or try to survive non stop seizures for hours? I'm not healthy enough to go through that!

I haven’t had a problem with my endocrinologist prescribing Kolonopin. Ben taking 1 mg a nigh since 1991 and no word I have to stop.

In my opinion, any doctor that tells a patient to stop a benzo abruptly is not worth his/her own salt. I would find a new doctor for sure. I have heart flutters from time to time now and I weaned off of it. Imagine if I would have ended it abruptly.

Only in numbers can we get a class action law suit going. Keep spreading the word in Canada and USA.

Let’s start a Twitter page and get others that are looking for reconciliation to join. This way we can gain traction more easily and get more eyes on this issue and if we can get enough people together they won’t be able to ignore it and we’ll get an attorney to take on the case. I now suffer from epilepsy due to side effects from benzodiazepines, been in two car accidents caused by seizures and I’m over 200k in medical debt due to side effects from benzodiazepines.

I am. We need to get people to join our cause to gain traction and actually get an attorney to take on the case. I suggest we start a Twitter page and get anyone else suffering with issues caused by benzodiazepines to join it. That’s how we win this.

My daughter is in the Winnebago mental health hospital because of benzos. She has been on them for at least 15 years, she is 37 years old and has 2 beautiful daughters 14 and 12. In 2008 I found her script, her doctor was prescribing her 120 pills a month. Idk the mg. but she was taking more then she should have been, she was a different person because of them, they made her forget her problems and not remember a lot of her life or have to deal with her problems. She is a benzo addict in a mental health hospital. She is addicted to benzos which took her mind, turned her into a different person. She had her first psychofrenic psychosis attack 4 years ago There's so much more that happened because of these pills, numerous calls to the jail to get her mental help, a letter to the judge to get her help, but he didn't care. There should be a lawsuit somewhere! My daughter is lost

I have been on a benzo for almost 30 years.. way to long
Over 2 years now have been suffering from chronic insomnia come to find out the benzos long term damages the gaba a unit in the brain and also stops slow wave sleep. Wish I would have done my homework back then but trusted the dr and now am in an agonizing withdrawals as well as no sleep. Mind you before 2 years ago I had no problem sleeping at all no matter what time of day or night it was. Any comments or answers

I'm not exactly happy that it took a dozen years or so of my own diagnosing that Xanax made me have seizures regardless if I was detoxing or not. Always took responsibly, never drank on it and I've had dozens of Grand Mal Seizures turning blue several times almost dying yet no medical professional even ran that possibility by me and labeled me an epileptic immediately I haven't had a seizure since I threw my last prescription of Xanax at my doctor because it is probably the most dangerous drug that people take for whatever reasons yet they don't know exactly how dangerous it is because of the short half life. I still take a benzo but I haven't had a seizure since I've taken Xanax. So what I'm saying is by those seizures over the years I had fallen so many times dislocating both of my shoulder dozens and dozens of times each requiring surgery while I'm out on Social Security Disability at 41 years old and clean. Talk about the depression. Talk about the loved ones that I've lost due to Xanax specifically. Talk about the pain and suffering and the surgery that I need with massive recovery times? None of this means anything apparently so if this turns civil and I have to go after Teva, it's going to be a ugly ugly thing if it has to go that route because then I will start really getting real with what they have done to people and frankly don't seem to give a rat's ass either. I’m disgusted with the doctors today, I don’t know if it’s covid burnout or they are just evolving into another type of medical provider, they have little or no time to see you and if you get in for a office visit they rush you in and out before you get to explain yourself fully. I know that the doctors have been using these meds for a long time and especially seniors were the biggest victims, I am surprised that so many are still prescribing them for younger people when they know the damage they can do. I told my doctor that he was half to blame for my drug dependence on benzodiazepines but he didn’t agree with me, it seems like he wants me to take the whole thing on my back. It’s very difficult to find another doctor at this time where I live so you really feel trapped.
