Hello everyone, I am looking for anyone who suffers from fibromyalgia and can suggest healing methods, medication and I would like to compare symptoms. Mine feels as if I had the flu, headache, joint aches, terribly tired, pain around the glands, stomach pain, low back. If lyou can please write with any comment or suggestion for relief, or any idea what causes it I will appreciate it thank you.

What did your doctor give you for sleep? My sleep is awful after a knee replacement. Focusing on the pain with different meds (percoset, gabapentin, acetaminophen), but still up every 2 hours. Beatricefay<br>

I take three 15 mg. pills of temezapam about an hour before going to bed. My pain levels drop so I usually fall asleep without too much trouble and I stay asleep between four and seven hours.

There is really only one doctor in my area (Quad Cities - Iowa and Illinois) who handles sleep issues, usually sleep apnea. My GP referred me to him and he has been nothing short of excellent. If you can sleep without pills, so much the better. I wish I could and have tried to do so from time to time, but I can't get to sleep and when I do it is very light.

I have concluded that most ailments that are diagnosed as being fibromyalgia are not autoimmune diseases at all and that rheumatologists are generally surprisingly inept at treating most forms of the disease. I got way better treatment from my general physician than anyone else. I made three trips to Mayo Clinic and the folks there never even were able to diagnose me properly, much less give me any effective treatment. One doctor glared at me and said, "Nobody every died of pain. Just go home and get over it."

I'm not sure what the discussion on fibromyalgia has been I'VE been down for a long time. I have had 8 spinal surgeries and after 20 + years opened my mouth to my rheumatologistt sometimes I hurt all over. I also have 4 immune diseases diagnosed at a two week stay at the best hospital in my state. My doctor worked me over for 30 minutes and sad add fibromyalgia to the list. He said prednisone would be best but to dangerous so he gave me soma which helps a lot. I'll leave it at that for now. briansr.

I have found bi-weekly full body massages to be extremely helpful in my overall general well being. I also find baths heavy with epsom salts and sea salts helpful. My doctor just prescribed Trazodone at bedtime this week, and I do believe I am waking more rested. I have chronic pressure urticaria (hives), chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, degenerative osteoarthritis, chronic clinical depression, restless leg syndrome, obesity, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
