Low-grade fevers weeks after COVID: Is this common with long COVID?

Posted by pdd @pdd, Feb 28, 2022

I was hospitalized for COVID and home since 2/3. On 2/24 started to have low grade fevers in the evening. Tylenol takes care of the fever. I am on home oxygen still but improving. Mobility and strength is better. Important to note immunosuppression due to cancer therapy a year ago. Lymphocytes are still depleted. Is this common with long COVID?

I know this is pretty old but I'm wondering if you ever found a cause and/or the fevers stopped? I first got covid Jan 2021 and it took 18 months for my body to return to normal. I had covid again 5 weeks ago and the daily low-grade fevers are back. I do not want another 18 month recovery period 🙁

I just got it January 1 and don’t feel like myself yet. Slight fever tonight. It’s very discouraging. How you feeling? Please reach out when you get a chance.

Did you have a fever for the whole 18 months? I’m on month 13. At this point, I feel like I’m always going to have a fever. If yours lasted 18 months, I have some hope.

Yes that’s common at least for me
March 2020
Your fever is higher than normal for covid usually tuns around 99.1 or so for quite awhile but my normal temp is in the the 97. Range
So if your normal temp runs higher that makes sense
Can’t tell you how long mine would go up and down sometimes my temp would drop to the 96 point range
Think it lasted about 6 months plus for long covid
🤷‍♀️

I tested positive on 1/25/23. Fevers are happening daily but mostly come on in the evenings, however, as I write this I'm running 99.1 as of 9am. I've gone up to 101. Most times I know I have a fever because I feel very lethargic and overall just sick. Hopefully this ends soon :/

Hello!
New here. Son had Covid in January 2022, contracted a nasty sinus infection that resulted in surgery the next month. But still running fevers. 100-102 consistently. He's asthmatic but no other covid symptoms. Anyone see any relief from the fevers? Have done blood tests galore and CT scans and nothing pops.
Thanks!

Do you have any other symptoms besides the fever. My son is the same way. Going on month 13.

Just the persistent, fluctuating fever for me. Does your son have other ongoing symptoms?

It’s going on one year now and still having low grade fevers. I have had every test known to mankind, a bronchoscopy and all are negative. Inflammatory numbers are still elevated and fluctuate but no bacterial or viral infection to be found. It’s very frustrating!

Hi all- I tested positive for Covid December 11. I have had daily fevers since testing negative 99-101 degrees. I also continue to have lots of congestion . and fatigue. Oximeter readings are good. Spoke with Doctor about it last week and they said my body was clearing covid....my gosh how much longer will this go on. She also said she did not want to prescribe an antibiotic because it most likely is covid....wondering what is causing this to go on so long. I see others are experiencing long term fevers....what have you been advised to do about it? What about fatigue....Thank you so much for any help. Much appreciated.
