Reversal of a fundoplication
I had a hernia and the fundoplication done in February as post this my chest is on fire. Going back to see the surgeon who did it on Tuesday. Has anybody had the same experience? If this guy does not have a answer heading for Mayo.
Thanks
Dennis

Thanks
Thanks. I will have to look into Dr. Bowers. My original surgeon said he “doesn’t do” reversals or revisions. I’m glad to know there is a Dr that can help
Thanks. I have an appointment with the last surgeon I can think of in my area to help that does many revisions
Looks like I will have to contact Dr Bowers office. Thanks. Hopefully I get a response.
If your calling Central appointments it can be a long wait. However, tell them you were referred and need to get in to see Dr. Bowers. (Baratric surgery)
Good luck and please keep me posted!
Thanks. I’m not looking for a quick fix but my original surgeon said he “doesn’t do” reversals and I’m going to be like this the rest of my life. Have to try and fight.
@ed_85 Did they say why there was nothing they could do? Are there other problems besides the wrap?
Hello I am Belgian and I am 27 years old today I had a nissen in 2015 and my life has been destroyed since this operation. I started having undigested food and an accelerated transit the drain test was normal but it was an omelette with water. I only had problems since
surgery.
in 2017 I asked that we remove the nissen! they have withdrawn but I still have dumping the transit expedited. I had gallbladder removal after octreotide treatment
after the withdrawal of the nissen. the symptoms were identical. the gastros concluded to an anterior truncal vaogotmia. the posterior vagus nerve is intact and has been verified. I am angry I no longer have social life. the surgeon says he always checks the nerve before the operation.
has anyone ever tried a transplant with the crural nerve?
Hi @link1030,
You might wish to scroll through this discussion, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/failed-nissen-wgastroparesis-possible-mals/ where Connect member @robatk17 has written about vagotomy. I'm tagging Mentor @kdubois as she has much experience with the Nissen procedure, and may perhaps have more insight for you.
@myskye I am in Maine. I think I read you were in Maine as well. Who is the surgeon you were going to see for a reversal. I'm trying to get in to see one in Augusta now.
