Reversal of a fundoplication

Posted by Pawsboy9 @pawsboy9, Aug 5, 2012

I had a hernia and the fundoplication done in February as post this my chest is on fire. Going back to see the surgeon who did it on Tuesday. Has anybody had the same experience? If this guy does not have a answer heading for Mayo.

Thanks
Dennis

Gee, I wish I could have mine reversed! Had in 2000 and it has always been too tight! Can't burp, throwup, get night time bloat every night since 2000! Sleep about 3 hours and then have to get up and move. Day time the gas moves down, nighttime NO!
Hopefully, your redo is great for you!

It’s been almost two weeks since my revision surgery. I must admit my midsection has not felt this normal/relaxed in three and a half years.

Still on a liquid diet for two more days. Then a week on a mushy diet.

Big noticeable difference is I’m not experiencing the extreme excessive gas as before.

I’m extremely grateful to Dr Odell and the Michigan Medicine team. I won’t say at this point it’s a %100 improvement but it’s damn close.
