Posted by baz @baz, Jul 5, 2022

I need to finally address my rectal prolapse. What are my options? Anyone else with this problem?
Thank you.

It could be an option, we live in Iowa, but they referred us to a colo rectal doctor in Des Moines. Thank you for moving my message. I called the place that they referred us to today and they said that they haven’t received the referral yet, they said give it a few more days and see.

I hope you can get care close to home. If you need it, here is the information about requesting an appointment at Mayo Clinic. http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63 You can submit the referral for your daughter or her physical can.

I'll be anxious to hear how you both are doing.

Hi, I am new to this discussion group and new to this "condition" - and am looking for support, information, guidance, other women I can discuss this with . . . only last night did I realize that, I'm pretty sure, I am experiencing "rectal prolapse" and am feeling really scared and alone. If this means you sometimes have fecal leakage I have the same thing but haven’t been diagnosed yet. Having a colonoscopy soon (my 4th) and will hopefully find out why I’m having problems. I also have IBS so not a good combination.

I had it and had the surgery! It’s so wonderful how the body actually works correctly!

@yanie1020, not yet i don't have fecal leakage which i'm hoping i can avoid by addressing this early. i too may have IBS as over the past several months, my bowel movement frequency has
been further and further apart. how, may i ask, was it determined that you have IBS? thx for posting to this message board. i truly appreciate the companionship.

Just all the right symptoms and it runs in my family. I think part of my problem is not having a gallbladder. I love fatty foods, like everyone, but they cause all kinds of digestion problems when you don't have a gallbladder to regulate the amount of bile being released. I go from a period of diarrhea to constipation in a matter of days to weeks. Some days I don't go anywhere outside my home. I'll know for sure after I have my upcoming colonoscopy because it will rule out the more serious diseases.

Awww, that sounds like a tough situation!!! What happened to your gallbladder?

I had gallstones and it had to be removed because I was having pain. My whole family has this condition. None of us have our gallbladder.
