Unidentified abdominal pain

Posted by singlemom86 @singlemom86, Sep 18, 2021

I wasnt sure where to ask this, but I've had severe abdominal pain for 16 years. Pain radiating from my back all the way around and sharp upper right abdomen pain. Lasted a few hours-a day for 16 years a couple times a year. Then recently i had an episode that went off and on for two weeks straight. Now when it happens theres pressure all around my abdomen and back, and sharp pains randomly around my torso, no sharp pain felt when they push on my abdomen, all blood and urine tests good, xray and ultrasound show nothing. Doesnt seem to be linked to eating seems to happen at random. Anyone experienced anything like this?

Have you had a HIDA Scan? I have upper right abdominal pain, all tests showed nothing. After a painful ultra sound they did a Hida Scan; that showed problems with the gall bladder. Something you might want to ask about.

Hi I am a 24 year old female I have been having upper right and left abdominal on and off consistently since Aug 2021. I have also lost 30 lbs so far since then without a major appetite change. So far MRI, CTA, colonoscopy, endoscopy have all came back normal. I had a duplex ultrasound done which showed narrowing in a couple of the arteries in my abdomen but the CTA and MRI didn’t show anything. What do I do next.

@amm97 - Is there any chance you could have celiac disease?
CTs and MRIs normal, but abnormal biopsy of small bowel or antibodies present. Check with your primary doctor for this. There could be weight loss with this too secondary to malabsorption.
Don’t go gluten free now- if biopsy is needed, it will alter the intestinal mucosa.
Still consult with another vascular surgeon.

I was tested for celiac when I had the upper scope done and it was negative.

I've been having constant upper abdominal pain, and left flank pain for over 6 months now. I've had numerous CT scans done and even a colonoscopy. Nothing has been found. The pain is pretty persistent and feels as though someone is wringing my organs out like a washcloth. No pain medication seems to help, and not even morphine from when i was in the hospital. The only thing they have found was that there is blood in the urine, and my liapse levels have been increasing. They sent me home from hospital with my liapse levels at 388. I was reffered to a urologist and the urologist did an ultrasound and seen nothing wrong with bladder or kidneys, but my OBGYN now says my testosterone is raised due to having PCOS. Im 25 years old and im living in constant pain that no one seems to care about. The only thing they tell me is that is GI related because i have a problem with impaction, but this is far from that type of pain. This pain hovers below and in my rib cage, and wraps around like a band its very sharp and stabby feeling. Sleeping at night is a nuisance because no matter how I lay it causes the pains ive tried propping myself up, and sleeping with numerous pillows. What could be going on? And what should be my next step? Please help.

That is so interesting, I have had right flank pain and stomach pains almost like toothache for months.
Doctor ordered an ultra sound of my abdomen nothing, CT nothing. It was so bad that I went to ER they did blood tests, CT and urine tests, nothing. The doctor said maybe it was internal shingles and put me on prednisone. Helped for a few days then it came back.
I knew it wasn’t shingles because I have had them before. So I went to my oncologist his response was that all the tests looked good and I should get my chest CT in September and see my general practitioner or I may have strained my side. Yesterday I went to my gynecologist oncologist after pressing on my abdomen she has decided to order an MRI of my pelvis and abdomen. I have spoken to a couple of friends who said they have flank pain also. It’s insane.

See I've been to the hospital multiple times for this pain. Everytime my liapse levels have been different. I know they fluctuate but its literally gone in this pattern. First time it was 79, 2nd time it was 130, 3rd time it dropped down to 70, 4th time it spiked to 388, and now its back to 29. Im wondering if it is pancreatitis. They have found blood in my urine everytime I've had a urine teat done, but the urologist said that my bladder and kidneys are great. I just went to my OB today and my testosterone levels have been elevated they did find some follicles in my ovaries but shes pretty certain thats not the cause of the pain. This has been going on and off for years right before my period would begin but now its constant, and the pain is excruciating in the early morning. There are no signs of any stones and my gallbladder and pancreas seem to be okay. I'm just puzzled.

They have prescribed me multiple pain medications such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen, tramadol, tylenol and codeine, motrion, and even hydrocodone. None of them help or get me any pain relief.

It sounds like you have Abdominal Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment (ACNES). I suggest you try the CARNETT test. Next you would need trigger point shots to the area for temporary relief. Only cure is cut those effected nerves . My surgeon performed Robotic Laparoscopic surgery last September - I was suffering terribly- and I walked out of hospital same day cured. I'd be happy to discuss with you. Let me know.

so glad you received a cure. do you think that the pains were in any way caused by slow motility? that seems to be what my daughter has.
