@lisalucier Believe me as Merpreb said you will know when the hot flashes begin and at night I'm still throwing the covers off and on my nighttime ritual still

@contentandwell When I was having a lot of them I would open the freezer to get cool , keep a glass of ice water handy and cold cloth . Why are women suffering with these Men don't . lol

@lioness. My post menopause ones stopped, I get them now from immunosuppressants. I don’t think everyone taking immunosuppressants gets them, I guess I’m just lucky. 😖

I am not sure if I am having hot flashes in a premenopausal kind of way or if I'm just having worse trouble than before regulating my temperature (e.g., after blow drying with hot air for 20 minutes or a hot shower). I've done some of the head in the freezer bit, @lioness. I've also turned on our ceiling fan in our bedroom (one reason I'm glad whoever built this house was super big on ceiling fans everywhere) and stood below.

@lisalucier If you are in the 40,s that's when I had the change as they called it . The hot flashes you will know as merpreb said . It starts in your chest but like a fire the heat intensity blows up over your neck and face and sticking your head into your freezer cools the heat down so you are having hot flash . I'm assuming your periods have stopped and the hot flash starts then as well as hormone change as I said I was a bear snapping at everyone husband got the worse of me. lol I never had any premenopausal

@lisalucier- Lisa- I think that you are beginning Peri-menopause. My hot flashes were just like yours. I was drenched after showering, doing my hair, even moving sometimes.
I think that it might be a good idea to see your gynecologist to discuss options to keep you as comfortable as possible. Or have you already?
@lisalucier Hi Lisa I'm sorry to hear about your fracture of the pelvis. I too have osteopenia for along time last bone density showed my bones getting thinner in my left hip. Dr. ask me to go on a liquid calcium as it gets absorbed quicker then pills I found bone Meal powder from Amazon it has calcium, mag, phosphorus all from bone meal I already take Vit D3 5000 mg. I don't know if its my imagination or not but how it use to hurt when I slept on that side it doesn't anymore. wont know for 2 yrs though if it has helped . I still drink milk, yogurt and all other calcium foods.
Hi Lioness,
I'm interested in knowing the name of the liquid calcium and bone meal powder you use. Has there been any increase in your bone density? Thank you.

Sorry, @kathryn0405 I have never used liquid calcium, I use a pill supplement. two important things to know are that if you do use calcium carbonate, it needs to be taken with food or won't be absorbed as well, and your body can only absorb about 500-600mg of calcium at a time so if you have a calcium rich meal, that is not the right time to take a supplement.
I keep track of my calcium intake and only take a supplement when I have not had enough calcium through my diet. I also keep track of my protein since that is equally important.
