How do you deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes due to sjogren's syndrome. Does anyone else deal with dry eyes?

Yes, Bruder seems a bit pricey, but seems to work. Also, when I gently washed it as directed, somehow the properties seemed to change a little, so I always test the heat carefully before applying. Dr. also suggested "OCuSOFT Lid Scrub plus Platinum" eyelid cleanser. But I believe it is because he said I had some blepheritis (which was a surprise to me). However, whenever I used it, it stung my eyes, so I discontinued it. (BTW, is it OK to use brand names? or should we not do so?).

What is just as effective is a warm washcloth as a compress and wiping the upper and lower lids. Recommended by my ophthalmologist. Have been doing the warm washcloth thing for years (30 years).

Very interesting to hear assorted methods: warm teabags; warm washcloths; eyepads in microwave. 🙂

Warm washcloth doesn’t hold heat long enough. Microwaves vary but using mine requires 26 seconds to heat my Thermalon mask, I initially start with a folded handkerchief between my eyelids and the mask and then when I feel I can remove the handkerchief I do so quickly and get the mask right back on my lids. About 6 to 8 minutes later I feel it is room temperature so I remove it. Afterwards I do Eye blinks - I was told to squeeze my eyelids tight for five seconds open and repeat till you get to 10. I recently discovered Dr.eyehealth on YouTube -he’s a very young and energetic guy and has a video regarding at home dry eye treatments.

To clarify my previous post. Bruder makes the Thermalon mask, says so on the attached label! 'Bruder Healthcare Company'

Interesting. Do you heat the mask in microwave on high? or lower?
14 seconds is enough for my Bruder. Also, do you use drops or other methods? I will look at your reference of Dr. eyehealth, but would prefer if I did not need drops as they used to sting a lot. Now I just use the tiniest drop. But, sometimes, out of nowhere, I need them and have to apply quickly. As you know, sometimes a breeze or air conditioner in auto can be problematic.

My microwave set on high, which is why I use a cloth under it until it cools down, (directions say up to 30 seconds)
Definitely drops, various brands over the years, no cure that’s for sure! But feels good for 60 seconds! LOL

@tennisgolf I use just baby soap on my eyelids it makes them feel a lot better . I dip a swab in the soap and clean them then rinse makes a difference . I'm going to look for the Thermalon for the eyes . I know a warm washcloth feels good . Thanks

I have severe dry and two optic nueritis incidents. The dry eye I treat with serum eye drops and lots of preservative-free eye drops continually. I also have Sjogrens...

What are "serum" eye drops?
