B-6 vitamin danger!
With the assistance of a neurologist at Mayo Clinic, I have almost completely eliminated the uncontrolled muscle spasms now. First and foremost: beware of taking multi-vitamin capsules that have B6 listed. B-6 overdosage (which is contained in every multivitamin I found in stores and on the internet) can cause loss of muscle control and spasms in some people. So can gluten found in many foods so now I am also gluten free. I now work out with a personal trainer 3 days a week and do water aerobics another 2 days. Got off gabapentin and also clonazepam. Using CBD oil capsules each morning (no more opioids or chemicals) and using a CBD topical ointment to rub on my leg muscles each night. He says I don't need him anymore! And I don't. No more shaking or muscle cramps or pain. Still a little numbness but that is receding also.

My psychiatrist said that "pain is depressing". That rings true, doesn't it ...

what kind of cbd oil and cbd lotion I tried one for 50!dollars and it didn't help
Hi I'm new to this today. But I'd like to let everyone know my experience recently. I had breast cancer in 2015 did chemo and radiation and all this time I've had neuropathy in my feet and can't walk. And I mean I can't walk they are so bad. I recently went to a neurologist and had some blood work done. He told me that my B6 level was 292.8! He told me that the normal should run around 1:25. He told me that B6 causes nerve peripheral neuropathy!! So I was pleased to find this group I hope that everyone will go get a blood test on your B6. All this time I thought it was from the chemotherapy but now I think it is from B6 overdose. The only problem is is I don't know where I'm getting all the B6. I don't do fruit protein shakes or vitamins. I'd like to hear some comment and feedback
I reply to this thread lower below it's my first time on here so I was confused on how to reply. But I'd like everyone who is experiencing peripheral neuropathy, to read the comments below that I wrote. In short I would like to tell everyone that is taking B6 my neurologist told me that B6 causes peripheral neuropathy!! I trust his advice and I don't know how to lower my B6 because I don't know what is giving me this excessive B6. But I can barely walk my feet hurt so bad I have stopped working and going anywhere that requires a lot of walking please get your B6 checked it's a simple blood test and reply to this I would appreciate all the comments
This is so crazy to hear about. Just last week my neurologist told me B6 causes neuropathy. So why are our oncologist feeding it to us like candy. It is crazy. Rb6 level should be 125 or less! I just had mine done they just do a blood test and mine was 292.8 no wonder my feet are falling off
This B6 thing seems to be appearing more and more. I am curious if it is because the body is not metabolizing B6 properly in some cases. When it comes to supplements many physicians are not well educated. My primary had bloodwork done and my B12 levels were a little high. She freaked. I also had a cholesterol check and had eaten only lentils the day prior.
I think for the most part a healthy diet is the key barring health issues preventing thus.
Off topic but the correct vitamin group.
Hello @suzzangel02, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. There is a lot of information available about vitamin B6 toxicity. Here's one of the sites I've found that provides a good explanation.
