Disliking who they’ve become

Posted by Gratia @gratia, 2 days ago

It’s difficult to remember the person they were, once the sundowning and personality changes kick in. Is this who they’ve always been on some level? I’m just venting, but the negativity and “sourpuss” energy is soul sucking. So tired today.

@clam Thank you so much for your post. I woke up this morning to three joyful posts from Mayo Connect - caregivers with good news, yours one of them. So, thank you for your share. I too find music uplifting, good for the soul. The fact that you were a drummer semi-professionally, how cool is that. My uncle was a drummer too. My adult son, I remember in his younger days: a wannabe drummer. Thanks for the lead on Utube, I've been pulling up some of my favorite songs. I remember seeing that "alive inside" documentary of what music did for the residents in that nursing home (another valuable share from Mayo Connect) and it was truly amazing. Best, Karla

Our band was called Uncle Alberts Orgasmic Orchestra.
we played old time vaudeville type music.
I am in touch with one of the guys who does solo gigs out Pukekohe way.
last week he had another ex-member join him.
I am dying to get out there for a catch up, but at the moment we don`t have a car

@clam Great name for the band! I hope you hook up with your friend on his solo gigs and get to play some heartfelt music. I just saw a quote: "Drums are the bacon of music" - the extent of my "drummer" lingo this morning! Best, Karla
