Did anyone have trouble getting used to a bipap after cpap usage?
I am having trouble getting used to this new bipap that I was put on after an in-lab sleep study. I have had little sleep in two days!

@kudzu Oh thank you so much for explaining to me what the AHI meant! I have heard it so much and never knew! I found out where to find it on the settings on my AirCurve 10 V Auto

You’re welcome. If I can help, I will.
Question-when you get up to use the restroom, you mentioned the timer stopping. Does the whole machine shut off?
It’s really better if it doesn’t keep running while you have the mask off, otherwise that would result in major leaks in the report. and the annoying red face.
Does it also automatically start up again when you put the mask back on? There was a feature on my bipap that would sense if the mask was on/off, and turn the machine on/off accordingly. It was so sensitive that at the dme’s office, all the lady did was bump the mask on the table and the machine started. I asked her to turn the feature off and she did. I wouldn’t have known if that hadn’t happened. They turn on some features without telling you.
Depending on how sensitive your machine is, if it’s getting turned on or off somehow while you’re not using it, that could be the source of your leakage.
@kudzu Thank you for answering! I was pushing the off button like I did on my CPAP, but when I come back, I turn it back on. The next morning on my Air it is just showing the time on the first starting. Not the time after I turn it back on! I read somewhere that if you leave your mask on going to the restroom it will not shut off the time! Just unplug the hose so it doesn't think you have stopped for the night. I just never had that happen on my RESMED 10 Auto CPAP but I guess it is different or like you say they have programmed it differently! I took a pic of it with my camera today because on the machine it showed my time after but not on my air app! Does that make sense? NO!

I’m at a loss there! I’ve never had that happen on any of my machines or on MyAir.
They just pick up where they left off with the time.
I really suggest talking to the equipment company; something sounds weird with this machine.

1 Reaction@kudzu You are so right, of course, I cannot do a thing until Monday now, I will use it tonight and tomorrow but I am calling them Mon Morning and see what they say! I am not letting my insurance take the money from my account for a crappy machine! I cannot get another one for 5 years!
