Anyone with COPD taking Nucala (mepolizumab)? How did it help?

Posted by snoots @snoots, Dec 15, 2025

I started Nucala a month ago, it’s an injection once a month. Has anyone else taken the monthly shots, how did they help?

I believe both Dupixent and Nucala work best and are approved for folks with high blood eosinophil levels (like >300). It may not be as effective for folks who don’t have this type of inflammation.

@hicopd Yep, I'm at 340. Can I ask what pharmacy you get yours mailed from?

@hank82
Did it help with your everyday breathing.

Mine is mailed from CVS Specialty Pharmacy. They even sent a nurse to instruct me and watch me give my 1st auto-injections shot. For me, my everyday breathing is pretty decent. I did notice that it boosted my resting O2 saturation rates. They were 92=93 and now they’re 94-95%. I don’t FEEL different but am happy. I do notice I don’t get an exacerbation when I have things that might normally trigger one, like if my POC malfunctions or I’m having a rough day due to other things.

@hicopd I noticed you said you blood was at 340, since you have been on it has your blood dropped to lower number?

REPLY

My blood eosinophil levels were over 500. I'm not sure we've checked it since I started taking the biologics.
