Trying to decide between Breztri and Stiolto inhalers.

Posted by jsh66 @jsh66, Jun 17 8:43am

The Breztri inhaler causes so much phlegm and hoarseness, sometimes i can hardly speak. Do others have the same issue with Breztri. Is this a common side effect?

@tcarson52 why did they do a right cath if nothing showed up on echo? my echo showed borderline increase in pulm pressures. Wondered what they recommended to take. concerned because 1-3 yrs is not a good outcome. I wouldn’t be doing a pft test. that can really be hard on heart i would think.
I think my breathing got worse after a stress test. Would you please let me know what your future plans/meds are. I appreciate your reply. thanks.

@lizjlb the pft test is only breathing into a tube like thing, it is not bad on the heart at all. You just breathe into machine, then breathe in they talk you through the test.
Heart dr said nothing wrong with my heart. Yet I’m talking BP med and something to slow down my heart so I don’t have much of a strain on it. It’s very confusing to me. You have 2 doctors for one problem.

@lizjlb because on a CT I had in hospital it said extensive calcium build up in arteries. I read that and made appointment with cardiologist. He is the best. Did the echo it said no PH but he went farther and did the heart catheter test which showed the pressure in both arteries were up. My BP was also high. I didn’t have bad restrictions from calcium but did have PH. I’m on 2 meds to lower BP and help my heart beat slower so not such a strain

weird. a little more breathless but gotta cough I haven’t had snd very very tired? All this might be for some other reason. My bl pressure is always around 120:72, strange if that is what causes it?
how long have you had it? who prescribed it your cardio doc? Do you see a Ph specialist? thanks for replying.

@lizjlb my SOB was different. I kept telling doctors but no one really listened. I followed up on a CT test I had which lead to cardiac dr which lead to heart catheter test. I was put on 2 medications and it helped a little.

@lizjlb my back is always hurting, it’s impossible for me to stand and cook sometimes. Been to chiropractors but didn’t seem to help much but maybe I didn’t go enough. I have 5 budging disc.
It’s hard to describe how breathing was different. It was like I had a block in my lungs that stopped my breath short of where it used to be. Also I used to be able to let’s say vacuum one day and it would be hard but if I did it every day it would get easier now it seems it’s the same hard each time. I’m not sure if my SOB is due to the lungs or PH . Dr says both. I need to exercise more I know I just get tired of trying I think. I do use my lung exerciser every day. It’s a ball like thing where you get resistance blowing in and out. You move up levels as you progress. That has helped a lot.

@tcarson52 thanks. did they tell you not to do strenuous exercises? read where you should only do reg walking, stationary bike, etc. with PH.

how long did you say you have had PH? I haven’t officially been told I have it but said my pulmonary pressures were borderline increased on Echo.
So am doing some investigating.

Also what inhalers are you on for your copd. Web says never hold your breath with PH but my inhalers say hold for 10 seconds before breathing??

What is that ball thing called. I might have it, does it come with 2 different sizes and the ball flutters when you blow into it?

thanks again.
