Trying to decide between Breztri and Stiolto inhalers.
The Breztri inhaler causes so much phlegm and hoarseness, sometimes i can hardly speak. Do others have the same issue with Breztri. Is this a common side effect?

@jsh66 Have you tried using Breztri with a spacer ?
Yes, I had the same problem with Breztri. I had heard great things about it, but after a week I was hoarse and felt tightness in my throat (not a great effect!). I had the same results with any inhaler that included a steroid. Went back to Stiolto (tiotropium and olodaterol), which works OK for me.

1 ReactionI have been on Breztri for a few years and so far, fingers crossed, I haven't had any problems with that. My voice isn't always the same but I do have moments with my breathing and I don't know why but generally it seems with a tiny bit of stress. I don't panic or anything I just wobble along. Older than dirt. LOL
All the best to you. Hugs from Canada

1 ReactionI believe Stiolto has 2 medications in it vs. Breztri has 3. Stiolto worked very well for me for many years and I liked that it had no steroid in it. My doctor later changed me to Breztr.
I have been on Breztri for almost 4 years and it is and has been a game changer for me. When I initially started it, it did cause hoarseness and a sore throat. I stuck with it and after a few weeks those issues resolved and I haven't had them since. Everyone's body reacts differently and I try to be patient when I start any new medication.
@donnab213 yes, Breztri has worked well for me too, I use it with a spacer.

1 Reaction@pamelaaci did adding the steroid component help with your breathing? I use stiolto, it’s ok but doesn’t open me up much but neither do rescue inhalers. I also have PH that may be the reason but no one knows for sure.
@tcarson52 yes, the little amount of steroid in Breztri did help. I also use Ohtuvayre since 2024 Aug which helps open up. I barely now need to use my rescue inhaler.
@pamelaaci
Yes, i have always used a spacer with Breztri.
@pamelaaci
What is Ohtuvayre?
