foot cramps during the night

Posted by sdcz @sdcz, 2 days ago

does anyone else experience painful foot cramps at night? Very uncomfortable and wakes me up. I am wondering if compression socks will help. I live in Canada and waiting for the extended release form of cardodopa/levedopa to be approved for use, hoping that will help.

You might want to check into the status of extended release carbidopa/levodopa. I live in Ontario Canada. I have a continuing prescription for the extended release version from my local Pharmasave store. I've been using this for five months, along with the regular Apo-Levocarb 25/100 during the day. I have found the extended release version quite helpful to get a full night's sleep.

I am doing the same as you given foot cramps related to Parkinsons. My dose of the extended release carb/levo (Crexont) is 52.5-210 taken at bedtime. Is that your dosage? Doesn't always get me fully through the night but another approach is to take your standard daytime dose before bedtime and another at 2-3 AM... IF you are getting up anyway for bathroom issues.
