@artist01 I actually saw Thoroughly Modern Mary when I was on grade school. Do you remember Do the Tapioca?

Boy I am glad you said that about cocoa Leonard, I was about to say it to Jen myself. My wife and I eat a lot of high cocoa content chocolate. I have read it is VERY good for you, very very good. Linda eats plenty and she does not in any way feel it is harmful for her PN. She adds a whopping spoonful of Trader Joes cocoa powder to her morning coffee every day also. She has to be careful not to eat too much chocolate late at night due to the theobromine content, but otherwise, it's very healthy as long as the sugar content is low. BTW, TJ's cocoa powder is a screamin deal and tastes WAY better than what Whole Foods sells at 3X the $$. Best, Hank

Cocoa is good. We’ve been adding it to our coffee for years. I’m spoiled now. I can’t have a cup of coffee without it! Lol

@jesfactsmon. I read somewhere here in connect that cocoa powder is very high caffeine, I cannot tolerate caffeine at all. I can eat a little of TJ's dark chocolate and I have to eat it by noon so it doesn't affect my sleep. Ugh. Is there anything else that's just as good?

TJ’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups are totally addictive! You get the dark chocolate plus the protein = a win/win! Helen

I was concerned about Diabetes, cholesterol & blood pressure so I lost 90 pounds. Weighed 227 and went down to 134 but gained a few pounds. Everyone thought I was sick or we're asking if I had cancer. However, I ate candy or some type of goodies every day. I bought me a 5 pound Hershey chocolate bar to celebrate with when I reached my 90 pound goal. I thought for sure I’d eat it but I still have it. Of course I have more than enough candy cookies pies pastries and junk spread around so no emergency. Someone just sent me a box of fudge today for my birthday and it sure is GOOD!!!
Take care,
Jake

@jakedduck1 remarkable accomplishment losing all that weight, congratulations and happy belated birthday! Start the new year right. Don’t forget the chocolate! It is long overdo. You now have two events to celebrate! You must have a high metabolism rate to be able to lose so much weight while eating candy or sweets. I like that diet. I am sure it was not easy. Did you exercise at all? I lost 40lbs before my AVM and kept it off for 10 years. After my AVM my weight was basically stuck at the same range for years. I still have difficulty losing weight but I managed to figure things out on my own to where I feel much better. I just want to lose 10-15 lbs. I believe my weight fluctuates due to water weight. I have had a jump of 3 lbs overnight. I have no cardiac issues or kidney problems so no edema. I visit my PCP every year routinely for blood work. Everything was within normal limits. Although I had some concerns my PCP had none. Next month is my next visit. I hope to lose some weight by then. Glad you enjoyed the fudge, party on Jake!

@faithwalker007. Hi Renee. May I ask, when use the cocoa powder, at what point do you add it to the coffee? Do you first make a paste of it with a little coffee? I'm thinking the powder would be difficult to mix with the coffee in its dry powder form. I could be very wrong! I haven't tried it but would love to.

@jakedduck1 I love my chocolate but not I hear i should not be eating any because of my neuropathy. Oh geeze.

Hi @bustrbrwn22 there is no reason to abstain from chocolate if you love it. I have neuropathy and have my chocolate too. No problems as long as I have dark chocolate(70% cacao) which has less sugar. The more cacao content the bitter it will be. One of the benefits of chocolate is improved circulation. The sugar content or carb count js more worrisome. So enjoy a serving of your chocolate. Tonj

Hi Hank @jesfactsmon I don’t know the definition of “high caffeine” in chocolate but it does contain some caffeine. A serving should not be a problem i.e. if you can stop, lol. Have you tried carob? Toni
