What could be causing my constant feeling of head pressure?
I have a constant feeling of head pressure 24/7 that has lasted for months. The pressure is all over my head except the back. It improves a bit when laying down. I also have dizziness, brain fog, and severe fatigue probably related to this. Brain MRI scans show no issues. Has anyone had this issue, and what was the cause and solution?

@sessma I went to see an ARNP in the Neurosurgeons office. She took all my stuff to the Neurosurgeon and he looked at a CT scan of my head that was from last year. He saw something abnormal in my head that apparently no one else saw. So he asked me to have tests done. I had an MRA and a MRV of the head and neck with and without contrast. So that looked at the veins and arteries. So then I got a call from a nurse and the vascular surgeon looked at my results and the nurse said I had a blockage in my transverse sinus in my head. I always read my reports. The report that was read by a Dr. of radiology said that there was some arachnoid granulations in the transverse sinus. But the vascular surgeon said it was blocked. The Vascular Dr. has me set up for a Lumbar puncture on June 18th. I will see him the last week in June to see what he has to say. He is doing that test to see if I have intracranial hypertension. When and if I get an answer I will let you know. You might try a neurosurgeon to see if they might help you. Starting the month of June makes it sixteen months since I started this process so we will see if I get an answer. I counted the days I had head pressure and it was at least 400 days. I get a reprieve from head pressure then it comes back. If you haven’t seen a Neurosurgeon I would give it a try. You might ask to see a Vascular one. I wish you good luck. If you get an answer please let me know. @rnlorena
@rnlorena I am SO grateful for your reply. The last +18 months have got me feeling pretty hopeless. I pray that you get some answers soon. I will let you know if I get anything figured out as well.

1 ReactionYes, it started 1 week ago. No one seems to care. I have Vertigo. They act like it is no big deal. I have pressure in my head, and sometimes a burning sensation on my scalp and also tenitis. It is terrible. I'm hoping to see my neurologist soon and maybe get some answers.
@sessma Glad to hear from you! I understand because I know also how it feels. I am only in my 16th month. When my lumbar puncture is done and I see the Dr. the last week of this month I will let you know what comes of it. Please stay in touch. I most certainly hope you get answers as well. @rnlorena

1 Reaction@kay76 do free like your spinning round and round (vertigo), or are you tipping side to side when you walk?
Tipping and stumbling when you walk is a Vestibular System problem. They are 2 different things.
I had Vestibular Neuritis that felt worse when I walked outside in an open space like a parking lot.
I hope you get to see a doctor soon. Make sure you describe what exactly is happening. Don’t assume it’s vertigo.
I am very interested in this issue and will follow the outcomes. I have daily headaches which intensify in the late afternoons, early evenings. Headaches at this time of day no longer like your "standard" headache.
I get a pressure in my head that's truly awful. It's a feeling like my head is going to explode...or more disturbing I am going to have a stroke. Since I am on new medication I am attributing this to a side effect of such.
My recent CT scan of the brain was "normal" except it was spotted I have a "tonsil" protruding from my brain (the cerebellum part, back of head) this is a "node" located on either side of the bottom of the cerebellum by the brain stem. This protrusion is only 5 mm. so my neurologist is not concerned. This can cause headaches and, in my mind, a pressure since it is not "normal". Since no one feels this is an emergency I will have a brain MRI in November...it's far out but I must be sedated to undergo this test. I am extremely claustrophobic and need to be put out to get through this test so scheduling is very tight. This pressure is very scary, never have it when laying down. So another possible cause might be a cerebral spinal fluid leak causing the pressure, it subsides when laying down. Increases when upright. A spinal tab would be called for testing. But, again, I never had such a test b/c no one thought it was necessary. Almost daily Tylenol and head ice packs are my go-to for some sort of relief.
All the very best to yo.
@kay76
I have some of your same symptoms, face and head pain (burn, ache), some spinning episodes and 24/7 off balance, floaty, internal swaying, disorientation in busy spaces, lightheadedness, head pressure and squeezing for 2 1/2 years and no answers. All imaging shows nothing. Hoping for answers for you!
@beachlife67 Epley maneuver helped me. I'd lie on the edge of my bed and do them. Here are several videos for reference. Has anyone mentioned antibiotics for an inner ear infection?
