Any experience with Nexletol or Nexlezet?
I’ve had bad side effects with rosuvastatin, atorvastatin, and especially praluent. My doctor is now recommending Nexletol. Has anyone had similar intolerance with statins that has tried Nexletol or Nexlezet?

Yes. For decades my doctors would put me on different statins, different doses and I had horrible side effects, I thought I would have to quit working and go on disability from taking those drugs. I was not willing to have a horrible life just to lower cholesterol. I would rather live less years happy than more miserable. My life was ruined. I tried Repatha. Same thing. I am now on Nexletol for 6 weeks without side effects so far. I was VERY skeptical because of the many years with bad side effects. I am still skeptical but taking it one day at a time. I can gauge my strength at yoga. How easily can I do poses and how long can I hold them? Right now the answer is that yoga is going great.

1 Reaction@llynch17056 Thanks for your post! I have had the same experience. In fact, I have not quite believed my positive experience with Nexletol. If I have any setback in my physical activity I have tried to blame it on Nexletol, but every time it has not been the case.

1 Reaction@poppy55 I admit that the “tendon rupture” potential side effect makes me a bit concerned. I have already had my uric acid tested and it is fine so far. I will be keeping a close watch on that.

1 Reaction@llynch17056 Yeah, the tendon rupture concern is huge. So far so good. I’ve been taking daily it for 5 months now without an issue. At 71 years old I have a torn meniscus, a cyst in my spine, scoliosis and sciatica, but continue to exercise regularly. As long as I can cycle and do resistance training I’m happy. Thanks again for your post. Made my day.

1 ReactionI too am unable to take statins and was excited to find an alternative drug. But after several months of taking Nexletol, I have the same side effects as I did with statins— severe muscle cramping literally all over my body from jaw to toes! Weakness in limbs, and I believe even my voice was affected. I quit cold turkey because I could no longer endure the cramps— particularly bad in my thighs and diaphragm. My hands cramped so badly that I had to pry my thumb back in place. I stupidly kept looking for other explanations and had 3 MRI’s, CT scans, bloodwork done, saw two internal med Drs— all with nothing showing up. I had convinced myself that I had no side effects from Nexletol and then upon looking it up— there it was! I had every side effect except ligament involvement. I cannot believe how much better I feel having discontinued this drug! Voice back to normal, most of cramping resolved, stronger in my limbs. Not sure where to turn for cholesterol treatment. Dr did mention a twice a year injection. But now afraid to try anything! So user beware!

1 Reaction@cvs46 you might want to try a supplement called Durable Heart. You can get it online. Intolerant to statins and Repatha, I tried it with my cardiologists blessing - it comes with a money back guarantee if your labs don’t improve! Mine improved a lot, happy to say.
@con123 thank you! I will!
