"Freezing" and Parkinson's
If you have Parkinson's it is possible that you have had moments of "freezing." Perhaps it will happen when you are going through a doorway or you are the next person in line at a store or bank and all of a sudden you seem to have lost the ability to move forward. If this has happened to you, you know how frustrating it is. I found some articles regarding this problem with suggestions on how to break free from the "freezing" and I wanted to share them with you all. The first one is from the National Parkinson's Foundation http://www.parkinson.org/understanding-parkinsons/living-well/freezing. This next article is from the Michael J. Fox Foundation https://www.michaeljfox.org/foundation/news-detail.php?tricks-to-move-through-freezing-episodes-in-parkinson-disease.

Hi All: Continuing on with our discussion of "freezing" I recently viewed this Youtube video regarding freezing from the National Parkinson Foundation. What I thought was most interesting was that freezing can involve more than our gait (walking forward, etc.) but can also involve cognitive, speech as well as upper limb freezing. Here is the link to view the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dxv8O2Pgl4&index=2&list=PLDGRDRM479GsNdWaz4GkJQGeOaN36pYw3.
Have any of you experienced any of these types of "freezing"? Teresa
