Breztri Inhaler

Posted by suzyq61 @suzyq61, Dec 25, 2025

Is anyone on breztri, I’m on
It about a year, I have noticed I feel like it doesn’t last 12 hours, I take once in morning and once at night and I can tell it’s almost time to take again, now I have noticed last month inhaler and this months inhaler when I take it sometimes i don’t feel like I’m actually getting a full dose and I won’t take it again until the night dose and I notice those days I’m not breathing well, does anyone else have any issues, yes I make sure I rinse the canister like the suggested and it’s not difficult to push down on it to take medication, just wondering has anyone had any issues with this inhaler

Yes I have been using Breztri for a few years and notice that as it closer to 12 hours, my breathing is more difficult. What helps is I use Levalbuterol a few hours before my Breztri at night if my breathing becomes really uncomfortable.

@opirg we can only hope they do something to improve the inhaler, there has been plenty saying they called but who knows what the company will do, they have probably millions of customers and won’t do anything because this been going on for a while and i havent seen any changes, im just dealing with it because when you do get the full dose it helps, good luck hope everything works out for you

@suzyq61 well, had discussion with my doctor, and since I have had 5 failures, it was decided that I will go back to Trelegy, which did work and never a problem with delivery. At 89, I just want something to help. Don’t need all the stress!

I have used Breztri with a spacer and have no issue with the medication. However, I contend there are times when the actuator does not function properly and a full dose or even a dose at all is emitted. I called yesterday, answered all the Nurses questions, then she began filling out her paper work which included me sending her a pxx of the inhaler and mailing it to them.....definitely not getting the picture that this was not this particular actuator but all of them that have the issue......that was a dead end road. My next calls will be to the FDA and Medicare. I am more than positive that I am not the only one that has had this issue. If a do administer a dose and feel there was a hiccup in the emission and I didn't get a full dose I just take another one. Ben doing this for years. Would not recommend it, but that is how I manage the problem.

@kndaustin71 nope your not the only one ans I’m pretty sure everyone in this group that has issues with the inhaler called the company. I’m hoping they do something to fix the issue because when you get the two full puffs it helps, I’m guessing also that’s why many people including me say it doesn’t last 12 hours. I’m giving them time to do something and if not I’ll talk to my doctor about another medication, good luck to you

I really think that a multitude of calls to the FDA and Medicare will get attention. Better yet, sending e-mails! Medicare is paying a ton of money out for the Breztri and I'm sure would begin to take a look at the issue. I did get a return call from the Breztri folks but it was an AI call...I think calling Breztri the issue will stay internal...the concerns need to be brought to the attention of an agency externally.....so I am going to start calling medicare every month when I run out of the inhaler dosage amount! I also think that since this is on a Mayo site that Mayo should become involved as a patient advocate as their physicians are the ones that write for the script and include Breztri in their treatment plan,. Come on Mayo! Help us out a little!

I did not see this from you. Bummer. I have been on Breztri for a long time. My Pulmonlogist says it is the latest in its class. Having read so many posts with negative remarks I now think my thoughts that it does not last for 12 hrs aren't just mine alone. I like the spacer especially now as I keep it clean by washing it so I can see clearly how major the med shows when press the inhaler and the cloud comes in. It seems to me that the cloud isn't as large at times. When you see a bit of clouding inside the spacer before you go to bed rinse it out with warm water. No cloth or anything like that the net says and let it dry over night. Taked the end off, That probably sounds dumb to write LOL Let me know how that goes. OBTW I got mine at my pharmacy.
Hope you have as good a day as possible. Greetings from Canada

@caseymydog1226 What a terrific idea on a way to monitor the doses of Breztri. I spent many hours yesterday again contacting Breztri/AstroZeneca. don't know why......because I knew it would be a waste of time. Next though will be Medicare/FDA. But I will do a week worth of study on the doses and hopefully there will be enough variance to photograph them. This is what happens when you are retired and have time to get on a soap box.

You absolutely have to rinse the inhaler DAILY, not weekly....just do you get the full dose of the Breztri...I use a spacer too......even still, it feels like the medicine only works for a few hours. Im wondering if I should try another med....have you?

@robinmelissa that’s crazy rinsing the inhaler to get full dosage it shouldn’t get clogged up that fast. The problem been the inhaler itself, when pushing down there are times you don’t get full dose, I can hear the force when it’s not strong so to me using a spacer there’s nothing showing the dosage and it doesn’t make more medication to go in there if it’s not coming out of the inhaler, I believe because we don’t always get the full dosage that’s why it doesn’t last 12 hours. I love breztri when I get the full dose but sometimes it’s a hit or miss what comes out, if we are paying for a inhaler it should work we shouldn’t have to buy another product to get the right amount into our longs , I’m hoping they change it. Stay well
