COPD question

15 months ago I had influenza a and was coughing up a lot of mucus still I am coughing up mucus and have difficulty breathing I went to the pulmonologist and he said I have COPD and was put on medication that almost bankrupt me so somebody told me about mullein and I used it 2 times day and it really worked but I am still producing mucus WHY ?

This sounds like a question your physician or pulmonologist. We could come up with a dozen examples - like that dairy can cause mucus production - but this is best asked of your doctor. Good luck.

I heard a Dietician today say that dairy does not create mucus...it does line your throat and can give that feeling...which may be relieved by sipping water to thin the coating.

@narelled23, huh, and every time I have drank cow’s milk I have mucus in my throat. I switched to pea protein “milk” for several reasons.

Diet has a lot to do with mucus . I notice more when I consume oily foods . Also dairy items cause problems . Certain vegetables and some pastas. Rice bothers me also . I also use mullion tea . Most people with OCD generally have mucus . The mullion doesn’t prevent mucus , it brings it up. I , like others , am bothered if I cannot get mucus up every day . I also use the inhaler , Trelegy.
