Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?
Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

1 ReactionFor those who need help with their copay for Ohtuvare: Verona Pathway Plus; phone # 833-372-8492. When you call, they will take your information and can email you a form to fill out. It is your basic information, type of insurance, yearly income, # people in house, and if your copay is more than $125. That’s it. Just finished2/23/26, will update when I get approved or not.
I was prescribed about 2 months ago. So far so good. I have noticed less need for the inhalers in course of the day. Saw my pulmonologist last week, he said my pulmonary function has improved? I feel much better in the am, by evening I get drained. As of now I am taking am and pm. I have become very gassy!! But seems to have improved my breathing!!

3 ReactionsHaven't posted in quite awhile as things appeared to be running a normal course for Stage 4 COPD with chronic bronchitis phenotype. Last year about this time (2025) had a spell of illness that put me on and off of Prednisone/Antibiotics for almost mid-March. New Pulmo Dr placed me on continuous O2 at 2-3l, I rallied but lost alot of conditioning so started at the gym with a fantastic personal trainer training for a repeat 6-minute walk with better result. Hit with an exacerbation in November, been down-hill all the way. I am drowning in secretions despite the Dupixent I've been taking. Doing all the pulmonary "things"" along with Breztri and ventolin.have gotten progressively worse and had to boost my O2 to 4 liters & get short of breath at that. There is nothing more terrifying than feeling that you are not getting enough air. Gotta have a plan,
I am fresh out of ideas so would appreciate anyone well versed by knowledge and/or experience opinion and/or input. I have gone to see an Interventional Pulmo who suggested removal of the three Zephyr valves I had placed in 2023 as they are non-functional....
it seems that the only approach my General Pulmo can come up with is a Prednisone 40mg x 5 days and a 20 mg x 5 day taper.
Any thoughts anyone could share with me, please.

1 Reaction@tschoch I have been on Ohtuv.,,and see no difference; get very light-headed after use; shortness of breath the same after 3 weeks; used my albuterol neb today 3 hours after ohtuv and got better relief. Some comments about ohtuv efficacy are made by those PAID by the pharma company who has greatly restricted its availability and distribution. I am skeptical; disappointed; and most importantly question why my hospital specialty pharmacy is prohibited from dispensing it forcing me to deal with a for-profit.

1 Reaction@kndaustin71 Exacerbating since December with COPD and ABPA; 9 days in hospital; 2 pneumonias; Bronch; specimens still growing; ; increased Pred from 5 >20> 40 daily; Cresemba for lung fungi (++visual side-effects) started Ohtuvayre w/ no change in shortness of breath (+ light-headedness).Questioning toll of side effects vs efficacy of drug cocktails.
