Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?
Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

Hi
It costs $2950 per month.
If you have regular Medicare, NOT ADVANTAGE, it's covered under part B, not your Part D prescription plan.
Medicare Part B has a 20% copay.
I have a Medigap plan G, which covers the 20% copay.
I believe Pathways has several programs to help with the deductible cost.
It's been great for me, before Ohtuvayre I had a 26% Fev1, it went up to 31% after starting Ohtuvayre. Doesn't sound like much, but for me thats a 20% significant improvement.

I have a Medicare Advantage plan and was told it was approximately $3000/mo and my part would be $500 until I reach$3400 deductible on the medical part of my plan. I have been waiting on paperwork for help from the drug company. I’ve talked with several people and my doctor has contacted them also. After several weeks, still nothing.

2 Reactions@suzyq61 are you still taking the o2vayre? I have some here that I’ve had probably since December I tried it one day and I got a little breathless. Haven’t tried it back yet. Not sure I will. I’m not seeing a lot of good things about about it.
@snoots yes still taking it , if your unsure then don’t continue tell your doctor about it there may be another brand he can put you on, it really made a big difference in my breathing but it’s just not enough no more, but never had any side effects, good luck

Can you get your Ohtuvayre? I was told of a change in Medicare so my doctor had to fill out some papers and he not mailed them back. They said to call the doctors office and request they fill them out and return them. I did that but my doctor had not received the papers. I am waiting and have 5 left. I am using one a day trying to
Make them last. I hope it gets resolved soon.

1 ReactionI have been on ohtuvayre for a couple of months now and it has been a miracle worker. Within two weeks of the first dose, I was able to breathe again after a year of serious SOB. I was shocked. No real side effects. I also have bronchiectasis and MAC along with COPD. It’s o trials right now for bronchiectasis because of the positive outcomes that are coming from COPD. My PFT also increased. It’s a win win for me.

4 Reactions@jmcasbar same as me I started it couple months ago too, it started helping after couple doses and I told my doctor it’s a miracle drug, I could breathe again but unfortunately this past September it wasn’t helping much and I went back to having breathing issues, hoping for another new medicine now, I’m glad it’s still helping you, unfortunately everyone’s body takes medications differently. Glad your doing good and continue to stay that way

3 Reactions@amira When I first started it last year, I had something like a $500 copay with my Humana Medicare Advantage plan.
Centerwell Pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy for Ohtu, put me on a payment plan that was kinda like the balloon mortgage payments that brought down the world's economy years back.
Then I learned Ohtu has a special program through Verona Pathway Plus. Last year, once you spent I think it was $2,100 and met certain requirements, you could get it at no cost.
This year, once you were re-approved for the program, you didn't even have to spend the $2,000.
Bottom line: Check out Verona Pathway Plus.
