Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?

Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

I remember you made this same comment several months ago. It seems that this "new" medication has not set the world on fire nor done much to help with COPD. This is basseed on the comments that I have been reading.

@kndaustin71 I agree with you, after reading the foments, I see don’t last long, side effects. Not sure it’s worth it, I don’t see a lot of positive

I started ohtuvayre today. I got a call that I will get to try it and since I have very good insurance I will have no charge. I was very surprised and very grateful. 🙏🏼
I am to still use Trelegy. I hope am not disappointed. I am a very social person so a lot is riding on this.

@linda86 which are you taking first the Ohtuvayre or trelegy

I take Trelegy in the morning when I brush my teeth. I want to rinse well so I do not get thrush. My Ohtuvayre treatment varies. I always do it in the morning. I usually do it right after I eat breakfast. I want to space them out. I do the second bath bedtime. Hope that helps. I just always do them.

It seems like a common thing with the Ohtuvare. My copay is $500/month until I reach $3400! Unless the manufacturer has a help program I doubt if I will ever start. I would much prefer a 1/month shot.

@stevelc
I was able to get full copay assistance through Verina pathways.

Hello

I’ve been on Optuvatre for about 2 weeks now and I can say it’s making a difference in my breathing for the better. I want you to know I also use ipratopium/albuterol nebulizer as well but I space it out. The other medication I find very helpful is Combivent but it’s expensive and fortunately I don’t need it much with the Optuvayre. Good luck and I’ll comment again in a couple weeks. TJP

@tjphillipp what maintenance inhalers are you on

Breztri but I don’t think it does much. However, Combivent I think is good.

How much does Ohtuvayre cost on a monthly basis? I have been trying to find this out for 1 year without a definitive answer. Can anyone suggest any answer?
Thank you.

Cost varies depending on insurance. I had no co-pay but several people have written it's 500 or more for them. The full billed cost is $5000, a lot of money.

@amira I think it’s Verona? Pathways? They were able to push a month supply at no cost! I had to call them several times but it was worth it for now.

Suggestion you contact Verona Pathways. They have details on the Ohtuvayre website along with a form for you and your doctor to complete. Once you turn that in they can determine if you have a copay or not. .
