Could blood pressure drugs be causing cough and throat tickle?

Posted by cab3 @cab3, Sep 8, 2022

I am post covid and have a deep cough. I've been taking Lisinopril for many years, and I have had what I call "tickle throat" for 20+ years. Could that drug be contributing to it? I am also on Amlodipine/ Is there a good substitute for Lisinopril?

Taking LOSARTAN, I'm still coughing, aspecially in the morning. Clear mucus.
Don't know what it's causing it.
Xray- no finds.

@celaud I have a long time tickle in my throat and I frequently aspirate liquids. I have had X-rays, upper GI endoscopy, swallow study, ENT scopes, and CT scans, and there is nothing to explain it. I was on cholesterol meds for 30 years and now Repatha, and there is no change.

omg yes and there are a number of bp meds where coughing and/or a throat tickle is not on their list of side effects. Talk to your doc for good options.
