Could blood pressure drugs be causing cough and throat tickle?
I am post covid and have a deep cough. I've been taking Lisinopril for many years, and I have had what I call "tickle throat" for 20+ years. Could that drug be contributing to it? I am also on Amlodipine/ Is there a good substitute for Lisinopril?

My husband was on Lisinipril and had a problem with coughing. Doc switched him to Losartan. Much better now
I was also on lisinipril in the past & coughing a lot. It's a know side effect of the drug. Discontinue & coughing stops!
Yes.
I was taken off ACE Inhibrace.
Also Metopolol. Made me breathless, fatigued and pauses at Night 2 secs long.
I use CCB Calcium Channel Blocker for rapid H/Rate Day.
Stopped taking bisoprolol when BP went low.
Diltizen 120 CD mg action on control of h/Rate and a little control of BP. It is a safe acting anti-arrhymic med.
After stopping Beta Blocker Bisoprolol no more afternoon sleeps.
A 24hr heart monitor should show what your med is doing in the side effects regime.

1 ReactionI too experienced coughing with Lisinipril and others. Bystolic was my answer for a bp med without constant coughing.

1 ReactionI am 81 and have been taking Metoprolol (Toprol XL) for about 15 years. I have had a tickle in my throat and cough for at least as long. I have other drugs, too many to list, but I am going to ask my cardiologist about it, and possibly wean off of it to see if it helps.
Ace inhibitors like lisinopril have cough as a side effect. Beta blockers like metoprolol or bisoprolol and calcium channel blockers ( like Cardizem) do not.

1 Reaction@wgoodman I am pretty sure my cough and throat tickle was from palpitations and arrhythmias, it is a little better now that I’m on camzyos but have no idea if that is why, it’s like no one can diagnose, one time it lasted over two yrs, a pulmonologist gave me azastaline and it cleared right up, now it doesn’t really help

Taking LOSARTAN, I'm still coughing, aspecially in the morning. Clear mucus.
Don't know what it's causing it.
Xray- no finds.
