I had a Ct in December 2016,showed 3 nodules 6mm,5mm&4mm in right upper lobe! Last week I had a Ct bc of a different issue and ER Dr told me I had 1 nodule in my right upper lobe that was 8mm and subpleural and a tiny subleural nodule in my left lower lone and small scattered lymph nodes throughout the paratracheal region? What does this mean?Pulmononlogist called finally after a few weeks and finally radiology compared both Cts and was told I need Pet Scan which is next Tuesday. I feel frozen and numb! He said it was triangular in shape and something about right hiler? Gosh I can't even think. Advice please

Hi all:) I went to thoracic surgeon like my NO friend suggested so I would know what it is and now he wants to take as much of lymph node out as he can via neck? And biopsy as well as another bronchoscope bc he can just see if Pulmonologist missed anything. He said he's 98% sure he agrees with no cancer but it could possibly be in deeper tissue that couldn't be reached and doesn't think I should have to wonder what it is! So now I'm worried again!

@pattymac, It is natural to worry. I agree with Colleen that your surgeon is being thorough. Anytime you need to go thru any kind of surgical procedure it is frightening. Bur remember that the surgeon is skilled and he knows a lot more than we, the, patient knows.
I know where you are with your fear and uncertainty. I've been though organ transplant. It is not easy. Think s-l-o-w, one step at a time. Focus on today. And give thanks that you are receiving good care.
Hugs and prayer,
Rosemary

Thank you and I'm better than I was when all this began. I'm actually trying not to worry and keeping busy with a research paper for school. My professor gave me till the 5th since I've been going through all this and I graduate next Saturday! I was supposed to have mediastinal scope( I'm not sure what it's called now) but they are taking some of lymph node to biopsy? Anyway it was supposed to be yesterday and I changed it till May 12th so I felt good for graduation and his nurse said it was fine because he had no rush on it.

Hello all. I've been through a mediastinoscopy & bronchoscopy on May 12th and don't understand why this thoracic surgeon didn't tell me I'd have pain? I lost my voice after surgery and am very upset about that. I sound like Minnie Mouse!! I didn't have pain after and it sent me to ER a few days ago. ER Dr said nothing wrong and sent me home. I wasn't happy about that. I remember the surgeon asked me if I wanted anything when I left the day I had surgery and I said no bc

I had some tramadol at home from my knee. I don't know if pain is bc I went to gym and rode bike for 2 miles or what?I pray I get my voice back and pain goes away. The surgeon told me No Cance,So first bronchoscopy on April 5th said no evidence of malignancy and these two said no cancer and now thoracic surgeon wants me to see Infectious Disease Dr to ? Fungus tests from first bronchoscopy came back ok so why more? Appreciate any help and thank you .

@pattymac, I have been out of contact with you and I am happy to hear the 'no cancer' message! I am not familiar with the lung situations, but I am going to guess that the repeat fungus test is for the purpose of running some more sophisticated tests to define a cause and thus a diagnosis.
I have a question for you. Is there someone who is overseeing or coordinating all of these procedures? If so, that person ought to be able to walk you thru some of your questions.
I pray that on 12th you get more good news.

Pattymac....adding to Rosemary's excellent words....I am wondering what "chest wall pain" means. Are you at risk of anything cardiac? Tdrell
