@IWantToBelieve My MELD score was 25 when I was listed 9 months ago. I am closer to 29 now. The wait has been paying a toll but my time will come. Hang in there... I am sure the wait will be worth it.

I had worked on securing my flight whil I was having my possible donors screened. I had 11 people sign in and only one made it to be checked at the Mayo. Then was turned down at the last test. If you are able make contact now and they understand what your up against. You might or might not have to use them. I wish the best. I will help with information and prayers.

@IWantToBelieve, At your mention of upcoming iothalamate test, I am assuming that you are referring to the renal clearance test. I had my annual evaluation this past week, and that is a routing test for us post transplant patients to stay ahead of any changes that might crop up along the way. Well, I had to laugh as the nurse began to explain the "new" ultrasound device that she would be using - because, last year, I was asked if I would agree to be a test patient while the representative was training the nurses in the 'new' device! It was really neat because I got to be part of the current 'state of the art' equipment. I told the nurse that she was a good learner!
Keep on looking ahead and keep on taking good care of yourself.

PS - As today is the first day of May, Donate Life Month has officially come to a close. We're thrilled to share that, with the help of many of you, we were able to register more than 550 organ donors through our landing page (https://registerme.org/campaign/mayoclinic). All we can say is, wow! Thank you for sharing your stories and advocating for organ donation!

My gratitude to these three Experts in the transplant centers! I don't know you personally, but I do know the important role that each one of you assumes to make the transplant journey possible for all of us transplant patients. Thank you for what you do for us.

I want to share my most sincere appreciation to all of you who have registered as organ donors.
You are an example of hope and strength to anyone who is, or will be, in need of a lifesaving organ donation.

I received my transplanted organs - my life - from an anonymous deceased donor. I am thankful every day and I honor my donor by taking care of myself. Life is a precious gift. Thank you.

Hi: Is there a lung transplant connection? I’m looking for an outreach with lung transplant patients and their advocates?

Hi all, If you're currently waiting for a transplant, please consider sharing today's blog post with your caregiver. In this post, Steve Vorseth, Licensed Master Social Worker in the transplant center at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Phoenix shares his perspective on the critical role of transplant caregivers, including how important it is that they be well prepared and practice self-care once the transplant journey begins. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/newsfeed-post/caregiver-qa-with-steve-vorseth-l-m-s-w/?hd_preview=c9fb57b7460e9759f4b898545acfd8e1

Beginning the evaluation process for liver transplant June 11 at Mayo Jax. Lots of questions and some anxiety. Mostly due to getting paperwork in order.
I am also anxious for my 2 caregivers that will be with me..dont want them to be overwhelmed. Ive been dealing with this first hand myself for 2 yrs. So much I know that they dont. Slowly preparing them. Im certain Mayo knows just how to help with this...
I will be sure to post my findings to help others following my path. I am anxious to finally be able to do something positive.... I am also participating in 2 clinical trials.

I live close to Mayo. I’m a pancreas only transplant recipient. My surgery was at the Mayo in Phoenix. At my one year I had to move so I could have health insurance that included Mayo. I’ve been in the Jacksonville area since last August.
I am more than willing to meet with you and your caregivers while your here.
