Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?
I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

LOL! Sorry! I guess you'll just have to pinch your nose and chug it down!
I am avoiding sugar too, but on my anti-inflammatory diet the only allowed sweetener is Stevia and that does make the cilantro smoothly doable. I also use unsweetened almond milk (non-dairy) in the smoothly and that makes it creamy. If you are on the Whole 30 diet no form of sweetener is allowed, even Stevia.
@gardenjunkie@kismass1 IDID IT! My supplements are keeping the Grovers at bay but some still itching, I get new ones, and I want to get off the steroid cream so this morning I made a smoothie with FRESH CILANTRO, unsweetened almond/cashew, frozen strawberries and bananas. I tried to take the first sip pinching my nose but I could barely swallow so then I just drank some and IT WASN'T BAD. I am so proud of myself and so grateful to all who have suggested this. I also took a supplement just in case. Now my big question is: how many stems should I put in a drink each day? The entire bunch is HUGE. I started with about 7 stems, using all of it and chopped them up in small pieces. There are about 70 stems in a bunch at my store. They are HUGE bunches.
I would like to know if stems are better. I’ve just making smoothies with leaves. Are both stems and leaves equal in effect?
i use both. have not tried one over the other
My bunches are about half that size. My best suggestion is that I use about 2 cups of both stems and leaves chopped up. Every day.
After 3 weeks now, just in a holding pattern. My break out going on 1 1/2 months is mild and stalled at the same level now for a week using about 2 cups of stems and leaves daily. It is not affecting my life right now. This may be the best I can hope for and will keep drinking it daily.
Like kimass1 I am using about 2 cups of both stems and leaves (why waste the stems as they totally blend up smooth). If I wasn't off sugar I would love adding strawberries and bananas like you do. If you put it in a blender you don't need to chop up. I simply grab with 2 hands and tear the amount I am using in half and put it in the blender and the blender does all the work and I have a 30 year old blender. I do add Stevia artificial sweetener and it helps the flavor. Have you tried not breathing and just chugging the smoothly? I do that when drinking Psyllium Husk for regularity. I don't taste if I don't breath at all until the end. Surprisingly I am getting used to the flavor of cilantro and can drink it slowly now. Also if you hate the taste the strawberries and banana bulk it up- more volume to get down.
Do you have any papuales or scabs or the just itching? How long have you had this breakout? What supplements are you taking? I must admit this is no miracle for me, yet it does seem to stall a major breakout or is it just coincidence? I still have a hundred papuales and some are scabbed on my back, just about 10 on stomach torso yet the itch is minor this time and so far no pain. I can still rest on my back and drive leaning against back of car seat not hunched over the steering wheel because of the pain caused by any contact.
Never any pain. Just unbearable itching. I started cilantro smoothies about 5 days ago. Also take cilantro 450 mg capsules twice per day. Seems vitamins A and D are helping. Been 3 months since I got Grover’s but hope my new routine of cilantro and supplements help.
I hope the A and D help, but I was on those even before I got Grover's.
Even if the cilantro doesn't help I hope to give you comfort in that for many of us the first outbreak is the most severe and longest lasting. Usually subsequent outbreaks are not as severe. I'm happy that you aren't dealing with the pain. Have you tried Flanax Linimento for itching? Amazon. Remove from bottle with Q-tip as it is a thick paste. The bottle is little but lasts for months. Nothing else I have tried helped. Many swear by Sarna, but it didn't help me. Flanax is capsacian (chili pepper) and free of my Allergic Contact Dermatitis in the inactive ingredients. Google how it works on itching. Since our histamines are elevated at night itching makes sleep difficult. I apply just before bed if in the itching stage, yes it will burn for a few minutes and this will go away, but in truth this sensation is a break from the itching. I use a long handled spoon for my middle back where I can't reach with hands as I prefer to be independent and not trouble my husband. Don't touch the Flanax, use vinyl or plastic glove because if you touch it and then rub your eyes or other sensitive areas it will burn fiercely. Once applied, a few minutes later I have about 30 minutes of itch lessening, enough to fall asleep. My first outbreak lasted 1 year yet now I have a pattern of about 6 months on and 6 months off. Also the itching and pain seems reduced with the subsequent outbreaks. Maybe this outbreak going on 1 1/2 months is much less because of cilantro stared 3 weeks ago. So far very mild itching and no pain yet. Can't figure it out all the triggers as my Feb 2018 outbreak started during winter and went away the beginning of Aug 2018 during hot temperatures causing sweat. Heat and sweat are known triggers. I now limit my sweat inducing activities to noon. The sweat really makes me sting even with this mild outbreak. If I start sweating I must shower as soon as I can.
