Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

I also put in a tsp of Chlorella in the smoothie. I take vitamin a and d daily as well. but not in high doses, just one capsule of each a day. I did this prior to cilantro but it didn't seem to help but I hear good things about the A and D so I continue.

I’ve been following along with the cilantro postings. I’m almost in a full “remission” after 5 month of my most recent outbreak. I am one of the cilantro lovers of this world, so next outbreak, I’m trying the cilantro diet!!! Keep posting the updates for those of you trying it.

@gardeningjunkie as always thanks for your comments. When you did your research into cilantro, you mentioned that capsules didnt seem to work. Did you happen across others trying the extract? Still trying that - going to give into a couple more weeks

I read from bloggers on the EarthClinic site you mentioned and also surfed the net for info about cilantro helping diseases. I read this from a number of bloggers. It is used to treat a dozen aliments and skin is listed, although not specific to eczema. I went deep into a variety of postings and many mentioned that the capsules were not as effective. Still I ordered some because keeping up with the fresh is a challenge. Yet I have only used the fresh for about 2 weeks now.

i am still trying the extract. I have seen a little improvement but not as much as others have said - note my rash and itching has never seemed to be as bad as others anyway. I am taking a little more of it and see if it gets rid of the rash. I put a dropper full (note, that the dropper doesnt fill up more than a 1/3 of the way, so i have to dropper 3-4 times to get to a dropper full) in a small cup of OJ. I don't taste it that way - maybe a tinge. I can handle the same with water, but i am swallowing it quickly and then eating something to get the taste out. I travel too much to deal with carrying raw cilantro along. FYI - people in the posts above say a bunch or half a bunch (i have no idea what a bunch is equivalent to but seems more than one or two tiny sprigs. Good luck.

seth971- a bunch in my local grocery stores is at least 4-6 cups, which is probably more than 50 sprigs. I am trying 1/2 bunch daily, stems and leaves. I tear 1/2 bunch in half and put in blender. That amounts to more than 2 cups.

Have had very little cilantro, mainly in salads. But have found that 50,000 IU of vitamin A and 6,000 IU of vitamin D seems to have turned things around. June would’ve been the magic 6 month anniversary and supposed minimum for Grover’s to go away.
BUT I am unsure of the side effects (If any) of these vitamins. Was not concerned initially because all I wanted was an end to the itching. My back is clear and have some bumps on my legs, and very little itching on my legs.
Anyone out there know about or has anyone taken A and D?

frogger- One of the treatments my derm puts me on when broken out is Calcipotreine Cream, a topical. It is man made vitamin D which is used for the growth and development of skin cells. It is widely used for plaque psoriasis (which I don't have). I used to take vitamin D pills and found it made no difference in my Grover's. Google vitamin D toxicity- not a good thing. Many today take calcium with vitamin D for absorption along with vitamin D and are getting too much. My sisters doctor took her off of vitamin D as the levels were to high in her blood.

I have probably read the same blogs as you. I buy 4-5 bunches of cilantro at a time. My bunches at the local market are smaller at about a cup or two each. I immediately freeze them and about 2 cups worth of cilantro go into my smoothies every day. Once I'm out I just repeat. This way they never go bad! Plus they crush up easy once frozen. I also heard too much A and D can be bad which is why I only take one cap a day. There is such a thing as TOO MUCH of a good thing. 😉

Ok I just had my first cilantro smoothie. Not bad at all. But is ONE glass per day enough? Just wondering. @kimass1
