Insomnia, depression, anxiety
So here I am it’s 4 am I have been awake since 3 am I often wake up. I can’t go back to sleep. I can’t text my friends I could be they would ask why I was texting so early. I tried my usual sleepy time tea, Clonazepam, deep breathing etc etc and I still wake up! I remember when I was I in the hospital I would call the nurse and I would have morphine injected into my IV port and that would help me sleep. I can’t have morphine. OxyContin also made me sleepy. Can’t have that anymore I ran out. It would be so nice if I could get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Maybe someday.

For me, melatonin is useless, even at 10mg. I'm a hard-core insomniac, but I just put up with it, helped by 1 or 2 daytime naps. The major problem in not sleeping at night is that it's boring and wastes time.
Have you tried melantonin or CBD or THC? I am having similar problems, though not as severe as yours. I love love love my coffee and have cut that by early afternoon. Many folks tell me that THC/CBD gummies are very helpful but I haven't researched or tried any. If anyone out there has experience with natural supplements, please share. Thanks.
If I don't drink any products with caffeine like soda, coffee, chocolate I'm able to sleep. After 12;00 pm I'll pay the price the whole night. I can go turning and twisting or watching television, but without any success. Sometimes I need a little 25mg of trazodone, and that I'll do it for me. I have to definitely avoid caffeine.
Thank you all for telling your experiences and advice. (The only adult childhood who's talking to me.) I am now at my son's house taking care of his dogs. It's relaxing, quite. The dogs are not good conversationalists, but they are comforting and cuddling.
After I had a fall here, I had the first conversation with my sister that was congenial and healing. It is the first time since the last time we visited. I'm sleeping okay.
A few days after I came, I got a call from my cousin that my sister is in the hospital. Serious and unpredictable. I got scared (of intruders) I scared 0f carbon Monoxide. Both are kind of silly, with barking dogs, and electronic locks. I called my husband and smoothed things over.
Thanks again for your help. I go home Tuesday. I hope I can help other people.
Perhaps an antihistamine would help you sleep?
I was recently prescribed Atarax for anxiety (since my doctor insisted I stop my benzo med.😡). They didn’t calm my anxiety, but one night I took one because I developed hives. Atarax is basically an antihistamine.
Well I fell asleep quickly, and didn’t awake until noon!
Yep, as a sleep aide, CBD drops have worked better than melantonin
*drops/mg depending on the maker and dosage/mg
*pluscbdoil.com 25-mg CBD
*cbdfx,com 1-ml (CBD & CBN)
*MARY'S Medicals 25-mg (CBD & CBN)
*www.RISEWMEDS.COM 30-mg CBD
I hope this helps

For people like me, antihistamines have a paradoxical effect - they wire me up! When I was forced off my 1 mg of Klonopin at bedtime after 12 years, leaving me a raving insomniac, I was first offered Vistoril, an antihistamine and when that didn't work, Remeron, which is an tricyclic antidepressant that acts like an antihistamine in your brain. It did not work either. A neurologist/sleep specialist prescribed 2 mg Lunesta and it works to help me sleep, but I am having night sweats again (65 so this is not menopause) which wake me frequently. At least I can go back to sleep, but it is not uninterrupted. Also some nights, I have leg cramps that get me out of bed. But some sleep is better than no sleep, and I am calmer when I wake up.
I can't imagine how you must have crashed and burned getting off Klonopin? I almost wound up in the ER tapering Ativan after a line of benzo's. There is no perfect solution to insomnia, I recommend a THC/CBD tincture balancing sleep with hangover the next day. You don't get high or addicted IMHO.
Curious about why you almost wound up in ER from tapering of Ativan.
I feel for you ! There are days I am up 24 hours. My problem is falling asleep, not staying asleep
Like you, I wish for the days I can have sleep
Good luck to you
