What did you do to help radiation burn?
After lumpectomy & lymph node removal (margins & nodes showed no cancer) I had 15 rounds or radiation in 3 weeks. At the end of treatment two weeks ago I developed a rash on my chest from the radiation. It’s very red & itches like crazy, which makes it hard to sleep. I’m using over the counter cortisone cream & Aquaphor for the dryness. Has anyone had success with other ways to treat this while waiting for it to heal? This site has helped me tremendously so thank you to everyone!

Are you using the actual aloe Vera plant?
No using the gel. It really feels good. Simeine who has been through it recommended I get radiaplex gel. Oh my! I feel SOOO much better. It is not cheap but really helps!
Hi! Thanks for your recommendation. I was traveling and haven't connect to this blog. I'm much better now. A friend of mine whom is a Doctor in Pharmacist, recommended me Silvadene Cream 1%- and also baby diaper cream with a large percentage of zinc oxide (the higher the % the better). I did used both and healed very quick.
Hopes it helps to someone in need of!
FYI, please refer to the photo below.
Whatever helps you heal is the most important thing. Hopes you continue to do well. Blessings!
The beauty of the ComfortSlings is that they do the trick quickly and without the need of prescriptive medications. But the important thing is to find relief - I'm so glad you did. Stay well!
I used the radiaplex lotion but it didn’t work too well for me… But the actual aloe Vera leaf was perfect. I had 23 radiation treatments the 2nd time. I can’t have radiation this time ( the same area) so I have to have proton therapy…
Initially I used Calendula cream purchased on Amazon. Good stuff. Eventually when the burns became open wounds I was given a prescription for Silvadene cream used on burn patients. That helped. Hope you heal up quickly.
So sorry you have to deal with it again!
That didn't help me at all. Neither did calendula, arnica, cortisone cream, or anything else. I ended up on Silvadene and finally got some relief, but it took 2 weeks of feeling like my skin was on fire.
