Hi,
Can we discuss menopause? I'm in my mid forties and already have the hot flashes and sleep with a fan. What else do I have to look forward to?
Any experiences would be helpful .....

I was lucky i suppose as i had to have a hystercotomy. Although it took two years. With me the first ovary was removed and then the second due to it being functional/ I have howevere experienced the hot flushes and tiredness, moodiness that all seem to go with the change of life. I found that evening primrose capsules helped me a great deal with pmt . I took higher dosages as directed by my specialist and it did help elelviate the problems that i was having, each and everyday i was feeling as if i had pmt was not a happy home. Men are not on the same wave length at all with hormonal issues lol, Have you hormone levels checked too re a blood test i found that this helped to be aware as to the way you are feeling. Hope this helps a little Piglit

Thanks Piglit,
My mom also had a hysterectomy so I'm not well informed as to what to look for.
I'm going to have my levels checked.

Hi Roxi......Menopause is different for everyone. I went through it at 51.........and then got breast cancer. Couldn't take the HRT and the hot sweats were one an hour. I stuck my head out the window at work when it was -20. Drink lots of water and lay off the tea and coffee. Anything with caffeine. Chocoate and wine are bad too for bringing on the hot sweats. Have you talked to your doctor? Get lots of rest. I found my emotions were all over the map too. If I can help, let me know. hugs, m.a.

New to this but thought I would give it a whirl

Hot flashes - drown them with soy milk - Not very far into the meno thing and I was having a really bad time with them - started drinking a glass of soymilk every morning and poof - they're gone and have not come back - all Soy milk is not created equal - I use SILK Organic - can also use it in shakes or on cereal - tastes pretty good compared to several other varieties I've tried

Noticed someone mentioned creaky joints - I was having problems with a sore knee that just didn't seem to want to go away - on the advice of my sister in law I started taking 2000 IU's of Omega 3's every morning - did not take long and knee was as good as new - this seems to consistently work for pretty much everyone I know who has given it a try

It took me a little while to get over the period of not communicating but now I'm slowly coming out and feel the need to be expressive. I am having so much problem with female figure in my life since I have been through a very dysfunctional family and have been abused by my mother. It's really a sensitive issue that I do not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable taking about it. Most people would truly have some good time and many good memories about theirs mother but I don't ... I hope this is not going to create any emotional distress for anybody who have a great relationship with theirs mother. I am learning more and more to allow female to become friends and I am accepting their support. It's been a long journey.

Hi Iraku
Yeah I get those I don't want to talk periods. Usually they include not wanting to take my clothes of to shower/change anything.I retreat pretty far sometimes. I am glad you are coming back. Don't you worry about setting any of us off. Unlike what your mother probably said to you, you are not the cause of our distress/emotions. Post away

Good Morning,
I awake and take a shower and then call my obgyn to confirm the time for my annual visit.
The receptionist says "It's at noon tomorrow". I say " Really on a Saturday?". Then, she says "No tomorrow is Friday and today is Thursday".
I don't know what day it is! Just a sign of the impact my life is having because of malice.
I hope that everyone has a good Thursday now that I've been told what day it is.
Hugs,
Rox

Hi Rox
Honestly I almost never know the day of the week and forget the date. Now that Baby is out of school I have not a clue. I don't have the work week or other things in my life the form that concept around,e.g., no structure.
I am guessing that today is Wednesday, But Hubby has taken time off in the past 7 days so I am very likely to be wrong.

hang on Rox, try some imagery about keeping your spirit safe? Imagery can work in the opposite where you don't lock up the bad stuff but protect the good?
