Why do I cough up mucus at the end of every meal?

I have researched, but failed to find out why at the instant I complete any meal, I begin to cough up mucus. Most embarrassing!

You are correct. I was assuming that pseudomonas bacteria was on the list of bacterias considered as pneumoccocal. It isn't.

Imagine if there was a vaccine for MAC or Pseudo! If only!

No kidding, I'd be first in line.

Have you been tested for reflux???

REPLY

Yes, I have GERD and take Pepcid every morning.

don't know about anyone else, but mine seems to be due to food allergies

I had an endoscopy 2 weeks ago because of the productive cough after eating. No sign of reflux or GERD

I did that for years. I think starting on flonase and astelin helped a lot and the brinsupri also probably helped. I was on protonix for 2 months, but have been off for 2 months and the cough has gone away pretty much. I am qualifying all this because, still covering all the bases, like saline nebs, airway clearance, etc.

I do that sometimes. I have a few mild food allergies. If I eat something that bugs me, I cough afterwards and have more phlegm.

Just wonder if you need a barium swallow to test for silent aspiration?
