Why do I cough up mucus at the end of every meal?

I have researched, but failed to find out why at the instant I complete any meal, I begin to cough up mucus. Most embarrassing!

I have always coughed up mucus after eating. It is embarrassing. For anyone.who has pseudemonas bacteria issues, look into the Captiva vaccine.

Do you mean the CAPVAXIVE vaccine? When you say to look into it do you mean consider getting it? What is the connection to Pseudomonas?

REPLY

The vaccination is geared toward those Bronchiectasis patients who usually get psedemonas bacterual infections.

I do not find any information about that online. Where did you learn that?

I simply looked up Capvaxive vaccine on the internet and read what it said about what thd vaccine actually is. There was much information about it on the first site I saw. Also it said that if you had already taken the pneumoccocal vaccine, you might ask your dr. if you should still get the capvaxive vaccination.

sounds like a good choice for pneumonia vaccine but I do not see any evidence or information that it is useful for those with Pseudomonas. So I still wonder how you came to that conclusion!

Found this: Different bacteria: CAPVAXIVE protects against Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus), not Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It will not treat or prevent the existing Pseudomonas infection.

Where it says "What the vaccine is". That is where it talks about pseudemonas.

Can you provide the link? Not sure where you are referring to look?

Ok on the official website for CAPVAXIVE it says CAPVAXIVE is a vaccine for individuals 18 years of age and older to help protect against invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumonia caused by certain types of bacteria called pneumococcus.

I think that is what you are referring to? But that is not the same as Pseudomonas

pneumococcus (\(Streptococcus\) \(pneumoniae\)) and \(Pseudomonas\) are two different and distinct types of bacteria. They belong to different bacterial families and have different characteristics.

You are correct. I was assuming that pseudomonas bacteria was on the list of bacterias considered as pneumoccocal. It isn't.
