What is the wait time for transplant testing?

How long is the current wait time from the time of the initial intake call until one’s first appointment for testing ahead of surgery? Post testing: what is the wait time for surgery assuming good testing results?

Hold on - people on Medicare/Medicaid do get transplants. If your mom is affected with brain fog due to liver disease, she might not be able to provide you with all the information you need. Try to find all cards that relate to her health care coverage and make a copy(both sides) then return the cards where they were. Also go to the hospital where she last went and request a copy of her medical records there. What you need is a proper diagnosis. They might make you jump through hoops to get it due to privacy laws but you are her child so do what you need to do to access that information. Those are things you need to be able to talk to any of the hospitals in Phoenix.
I have a couple of questions for you: 1) because you are in New Mexico I wonder if you might be Native American. I ask because there are resources available and Mayo is contracted with some of those plans. I do not know any of the details but look at this website:
https://www.hca.nm.gov/lookingforassistance/native_americans/
2) does you mom have a history of alcohol or drug use?
3) what is your own situation? do you live with her, do you work, do you have other family members in the area?

Important to remind you that people like myself and others on these "Mayo Connect" posts are not doctors nor nurses, just common people who have might have experienced a sliver of what you are going through and who might give you some useful information. Wishing you strength as you navigate this.
