Hi @noosat1…how did you ever get off sugar? I’m finding it one of the most difficult things to do. Have had PMR since last Oct. have you had any falls? I’ve just had my third one and the bruises are piling up!! Also, has anyone ever heard of Beau’s lines? I’m getting lines on my nails which go across the nail rather than up and down….
Getting off sugar for me was not hard as I prefer the taste of "savory." Although occasionally want a "sweet', then I eat a piece of dark chocolate, at least 70+ percent pure cocoa, mix a can, no syrup, if I don't have fresh, of unsweetened pineapple with blueberries, or even a sugarless cookie.

Not to address the disease, but to try to relieve symptoms. I am not sure that it is the effect of turmeric or my disease running its course, but since taking turmeric every day I have relief from pain. I don't believe I can have ill effects from the spice, so I will continue to use. I used it in lesser amounts even before being diagnosed with PMR
I was part of an NIH published study at UCSF many years ago. The study is published. I now have a flair of my Lichen Planus of mouth, nails, and other areas. I have been taking 8000 mg total with BioPerine of Tumeric taken with meals three times a day since March. It is a challenge but worth it to help avoid Prednisone systemically. I still require some prednisone topically but hope to avoid the problems of systemic prednisone.
Has anyone out there ever made turmeric tea. I would like to try turmeric but would rather do this with tea from the real turmeric tubers. I understand, from my Sri Lanka doctor that you can get too much of it and that is not good for you. So I really don’t know just how much to use in the steeped tea. I also understand that pepper is an aid in helping the turmeric to do its job. I do not eat much Indian food, not that I don’t it, just any I have tried seems to let me down. When I visit an Indian restaurant I love what I am served. Any help

@beachbum80 Good morning I have used the tea as well as Golden milk with tumeric and ginger. I found teabags from Trader Joe's that are good but you can also put 1/4 teaspoon of tumeric, dash black pepper and about same of ginger in cup of hot water let it steep for awhile reheat if you have to. For Golden milk do same on stove boil it for a couple of minutes then add almond milk hope this helps .My heart goes out to Sri Lanka from bombings

Thank you so much for your advise this is exactly what I would do. I will give the tea a go and I’ll let you know the results, although I know one does not see results instantly, so it could be a little time to know, Again thank you!

I have Gastroparsis, & I’m on a soft food diet, my stomach doesn’t hold anything heavy, also T1D, so sugars are limited, would this timer IV help me any , lately my feet & legs have been swelling, I also have scleroderma
I have PMR and take 1,000mg of yurmeric each day as it has anti-inflammatory effects. I do believe my "good" diet which includes no sugar, little if any: processes food etc.
