1 ReactionMy best for your husband & you. I lost my late husband to a heart problem at 59, I was 57. I know that we are fortunately gaining so much knowledge & expertise in the medical field.

1 ReactionThank you for your reply.
Yes, I lookup everything I can.
I was told that the tricuspid is the last valve to be really researched & is being done so right now..
I know my energy & stamina are less than they used to be. I’m doing what I can to keep up.
I did follow up my Cardiologist with the University hospital.
It seems I am not a candidate for surgery at least at this time.
Thank you for sharing.
Can you share your experience with Dr. Shrestha? I'm due to have surgery with him at the end of this month and want to hear what previous patients have to say about him.
Thank you!
Hello, We cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Shresta! We did research on him before we ever met him. He has a number of interviews on the Mayo site which were very helpful to us. The sheer number of heart procedures he has done helped make my husband and I feel confident in the valve surgery my husband needed. I can honestly say he saved my husband's life. Besides being a gifted surgeon he has a wonderful bedside manner and took time to really listen to our concerns and address them as honestly as he could. We also appreciated all the help and concern we received from his PA's, Fellows, nurses, residents, etc. He was a blessing to us. Wishing you the very best with your upcoming surgery. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Bonnie
Thank you for the reply! I have watched just about every video I could find on him and the amount of experience I felt he has is what made me choose him. During my first phone call he was extremely confident and very optimistic about my procedure. His attitude definitely settled my nerves some.

1 ReactionI have severe TCV regurgitation due to tear when removing pacemaker lead last year. I will be getting a replacement valve in June, Evoque. It will be by minimally invasive procedure with Catheter through my vein.
@bigbon so glad your husband has experienced improvement. Do you mind sharing how they worked on the valve, open heart, minimally invasive and what type of complication occurred? I will be doing this in next couple months.
I have severe TCV regurgitation due to tear when removing pacemaker lead last year. I will be getting a replacement valve in June, Evoque. It will be by minimally invasive procedure with Catheter through my vein. I am wondering about the severe complications your husband suffered, if you don’t mind sharing.
@ddwish My husband had 2 valves replaced - mitral and tricuspid. When surgery was completed, they had to put him on ECMO. The cannula for the ECMO is larger then other cannulas and his femoral artery was torn when they were putting it in. Bloodbath!
My husband needed open heart surgery for the valve replacements. He had pacemakers for 30+ years prior to this surgery. He was/is 100% paced due to sinus node abalation. At present, he is on his 5th pacemaker. 30 years ago, treating his heart condition was so different then it is today. Praying for complete success for your June procedure.
