It may be Reflux! My 1st surgery was in 2008. Cough went away after 18 yrs. Well he messed up my Nissan Fundlication and now I've got cough back plus lump in my throat! Gastro giving me 2 Nexium 40 mg and 300mg 2x day! It helps some but not completely! I'll end of
Having surgery again but not till I Move to Jacksonville Fl in spring or summer!
In reference to your lows after a large meal. I also had that problem...it is so hard to determine the amount of insulin needed when eating....carbs and such in relation to insulin needed. My doctor told me to add one or two units more to my sliding scale if I was eating a large meal. That seemed to work..... I always say every day is a new day!

@maknob, thanks for this suggestion. i will try this adding the lowest amount. Do u usually stick to only 3 meals and fixed timings of meals?

I eat three meals at (usually) specific times and need a snack between b-fast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner. I have only been a type one diabetic for two years now....had regular sugars until then. Then had a very stressful event that brought diabetes to me. I am a brittle diabetic and have to be careful of food and insulin. My snacks can be a half Atkins bar, peanut butter and apple slices or a piece of cheese. I cannot eat nuts as a snack as they raise my sugars. My husband says I am not normal. I agree.

Good schedule and arrangements of meals. It gets very hard when you have brittle type. Take care

Not sure my story directly applies, but due to me having light-headedness spells, pressure in my head, etc., I went in for an MRI. No tumors! but packed sinuses with polyps. Went to ENT specialist, did a cat-scan of sinuses, & Front sinuses 100% blocked. Surgery today to rotor-rooter them out and re-set a crooked septum that's blocking 1/2 my airway. Hopefully this will open my head up and eliminate my dizzy spells. I'll let you know.

For a bad cough, other than what's been posted here with acid-refulx, I suggest seeing an ENT (ear/nose/throat) Dr. My sinuses are so packed that nothing is coming out through my nose; all going down my throat. Not causing bad coughs, but none the less. Good luck.

I had that surgery back in the 80s for migraine headaches but it never helped. With age I finally outgrew them or not working less stress. I still have allergic Rhinitis which can also cause congestion in your nose. I take a decongestant and antihistamine such as Zyrtec!

Just an update. Sinus surgery went great. Was unbelievable how open my airway was after they removed the splints. I can't remember when I ever was able to breath like that. Now well see if all the issues disappear.
