Ear leaking watery wax for weeks, what’s wrong?
I currently do not have insurance and can not afford a doctor or urgent care visit but I’m very worried about now both of my ears. For weeks they have been leaking a watery ear wax that gets stuck to my ear lobes and causes my lobes to bleed from cleaning them so much. I did use q tips before this happened so that could’ve caused it but I can’t get it to go away I took some amoxicillin I had 5 days worth of and have been using hydrogen peroxide but nothing has helped it’s the worst at night. Should I save up for urgent care?

@hailey428m PLEASE don't mess around with your ears. Ears should not leak, and failing to get an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment can cause you to permanently lose your hearing.
Are you sure this is earwax, or did your poking around with q-tips actually puncture your eardrums? If so, you need a diagnosis now. In the meantime, stop putting peroxide or anything else into your ears, simply wipe the outer ear (no further than your thumb fits) with a warm wet washcloth or a paper towel.
Please find a free clinic, minute clinic, or somewhere else to get a look into your ears as soon as possible. Is there someone you can borrow the money from to get care?

3 Reactionshailey428m, Please stop using the peroxide and q-tips. Please go to an Urgent Care Clinic. You may have
really bad ear infections in both ears or the ear drum could have ruptured in both ears. This is serious.
Praying for you.

1 ReactionI had that for years. My ears were constantly wet. I would use Q-5ips (be careful not to push the watery wax further into your ear. I would go to an ear doctor, and he would extract a huge ball of hardened wax. It went on for yours. I tried ear candling. After 3-4 years, it went away.
No one could give me an answer - this was 30-35 years ago.. Maybe science knows more about it now I eventually wondered if it had something to do with my anxiety (been taking meds for that a long time). It also might have been something I was eating, or the way my body was responding to a certain food. I did not think of cutting out certain foods to see if that had an effect. It just eventually went away.
I think the watery wax (with a very pale yellow tinge to it is the first step in the body trying to heal itself. A few times, I notice if I cut or scraped my skin, I would get the same liquid which evolved into a covering, then a scab.
I would pursue more ear - skin specialists. Do be careful with the Q-strips.. Overuse sometimes got me into more trouble. You mention bleeding. The watery wax might be to it's way of fighting what it thinks is a dangerous situation starting to build up. I am not a Dr. these are just my thoughts and observations when it was happening to me. It certainly is a troublesome and possibly dangerous situation, if you get to adventuerist trying to deal with it on your own..
You can use 1percent hydrocortisone cream ONLY outside the ear canal where the dry crusty stuff appears. You only need a very little bit works. The wetness for me comes from what they say is like psoriasis inside the ear drying then getting wet. You need a prescription for that. Please see a Dr and get that diagnosed.
