Saline nebulized inhalation

Posted by thumperguy @thumperguy, Dec 21, 2019

Rx’d. 0.9%,3 mL. If three is good might five be even “gooder?” I can get it in 5 mL doses. Any reason not to go for it?

I got 50 vials in a box of 7% Sterile Hypertonic Saline Solution 5ml per vial, Base Laboratories, from Amazon. No prescription is required.

by the way Lilianna, I forgot to mention I nebulize twice daily with 7% saline.......then I do the Autogenic thing for 4 or 6 minutes..it can be helpful in getting sputum up. If I can share my experience which really isn't all that much, I was just diagnosed this year, I am happy to. I learned A LOT on this blog...the people here are very nice and helpful.......Bon

I got the saline, 60 4ml vials, via GoodRx for the first time. It cost me $11.40! It is worth checking out. https://www.goodrx.com/

Thank you healhtybone. I nebulize 3% because my pulmo said I could get a bronchospasm (light asthma). I do mucinex, albuterol 2 puffs, then 3% saline then aerobica with the huffing ( a respiratory therapist showed me how to do it properly- like a panting dog) - no mucus at all so I do all this to prevent the worse- I read on this forum to do it no matter what

What is “the Autogenic thing?” I’m not familiar with this term.
Thanks

Hi Revans,
Here is a link that is excellent in explaining all about airway clearance, including autogenic drainage. One of our other wonderful & wise group members turned me on to it and it is incredibly helpful. Hope it is for you as well.

Definitely need a respiratory therapist, learning by utube just doesn't go with best practice medicine.
