Please Share 3 Things You Appreciate about Being Old
It's Thanksgiving, so I'm looking at the positive. Some folks don't like the word "old" but I don't mind it. You can substitute "aging" if you prefer! I'm thrilled to be 71 and looking at 72. Due to serious health concerns in my youth I never expected to make it this far. So here goes--and I hope you can join in.
My Three Positive Things
1. I know what my ethics and beliefs are, and I'm no longer worried I might betray them because of outside pressure.
2. I can tell a good story based on life experience.
3. I'm less self critical. My mom told me that if she made a mistake she'd say "you're so clumsy" to herself. When she turned 80 she changed and told herself "you're doing great!"

1) I take deep joy in simple perceptions: color, sound, smell, touch.
2) I know how to study and learn, and I have a lifetime supply of research materials for my favorite topics.
3) I'm grateful for human relationships with fewer expectations, knowing life is often difficult or everyone; it's good to be around one another.
4) My dog and I are in love.

18 ReactionsI’m 79. I always forget names and get brain fog. Now people will just accept that as me just getting old. I did the same stuff years ago and didn’t have that excuse. Years ago I once introduced two people I had known for years to each other. My mind totally went blank.

7 ReactionsA t 94, worked through my 77th year, I think I am just getting to know me a lot better. It’s been a great experience to catch up and be comfortable in my memories. I guess I am content is the word.
And my family is around 24/7 which gives me blessings to overflowing, a time to forgive others and if still living, I have asked for their forgiveness. The road is straighter now. It’s a good time believe me!!

2 ReactionsAnd most importantly give thanks daily, pray for forgiveness daily, and at Phil 4: begin
With verse 6 and follow HIS direction. In HIM. ‘Do not fret, prayerfully with praise let JESUS
Know all your needs and roll it over
Again prayerfully and REST IN HIM and read to next verses the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds’.
Vs 13 ‘ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’

7 Reactions@carmine100 you aren’t alone… I try ways to get people to introduce themselves to each other…as to other forgetting, I definitely write things down and start my days with my to-do list…definitely helps ..there’s no magic pill, just a few simple adjustments can help..
