Has anyone dealt with Peyronie's successfully? What helped?

I am 67 yo with chronic stage Peyronies which presents as a significant (60°?) upward curve during Viagra induced erections. Less pronounced with non Viagra erections but more difficult to achieve and maintain without meds. Causes painful intercourse with wife but as she is several years older than I, a straight erection would most likely cause pain as well so we use other options. Fortunately, I have zero pain and orgasms are still attainable and enjoyable for us both. Has anyone else dealt with Peyronies successfully and if so, what methods did you use? I’ve read several online comments from men who have used Xiaflex but that seems to provide 50% improvement if any.

I have tried some vitamin E cream, and even a little DMSO afterwards to help it penetrate the skin. I tried this daily for 2 months with no results. I am not that concerned about my curve, it's the freaking knots, scar tissue, that bothers me. On the right side I have a knot and on the left I have a hinge and a smaller knot. Just feels creepy, my wife doesn't mind, but I do. Anyone had any luck getting rid of this, or reducing them in size? They only appear when I am 75% erect.

Xiaflex, IMO, has very few success stories, most recipients saying it was a lot of money for something that didn’t work and an unfortunate number saying it worsened their condition. It’s not an option for me.

I wouldn't chance the Xiaflex. I have read to many negative comments both for contractures and Peyronie'.
Mayo Clinic has a device called restore X. Here's a link below.

They say traction is the best next to Xiaflex in terms of scientific evidence. I’ve been using Restorex off an on for about a year with some mild improvement in curvature. I think management should include a combination. stretching devices, massaging the scar tissue and perhaps some topical applications like Vitamin A and E or Bio Oil. I haven’t tried shockwave or injections and don’t plan on it.

@bigbentboy What do you consider a mild improvement? How often did you use Restorex?

@soarus57 I started using Restorex in March of last year. The goal is daily for at least a half hour. I might have averaged 4-5 times per week 30-45 min. Gained about a half inch to inch in length and perhaps a 5 degree lessening of the bend to the left. Seems as though it improves circulation or at least the ability to get and maintain an erection but hard to tell since I use daily tadalafil for enlarged prostate and generic Viagra for weekly intercourse.

No, I never used Restorex.
I used penile modeling (manual straightening by hand pushing in opposite direction.)

I used a vaccine pump several times a week and it straightened it out.

I was diagnosed with Peyronie’s disease and sought treatment at the Mayo Clinic. I was prescribed the RestoreX traction device. I have been using RestoreX since December 2025 with some success. Before treatment I had a 45 decree curve to the left and a pea sized formation of plaque that I could feel near the mid right side of my penis that caused the bend to the left. I could feel the plaque when my penis was flaccid. When erect there was an indention opposite where the plaque was located. Although the condition was not too painful, I did feel a tugging sensation near the bend that was not pleasant. I was mostly disturbed by the appearance of the curve.

After seven to eight months of using the RestoreX traction device the plaque is no longer detectable and the indention is much less noticeable. The angle of curvature has decreased from 45 degrees to about 25 degrees. I no longer feel the tugging sensation near the curve. Although not straight, my penis is much better than before traction. I hope that continued use results in more straightening, but if it does not, I feel much less deformed and I am happy with the results.

Using RestoreX took some getting used to. The videos on their website were very helpful. As advised in the manual that came with the device, I start off with 15 minutes of straight traction and then 15 minutes of counter bending (opposite direction of the curve). I do two 30-minute treatment sessions per day, usually one in the morning and one in the evening. I think I is important to develop a daily routine so the you consistently use the device. I also take a daily dose of Tadalafil. Although I have not experienced ED my physician said the Tadalafil would increase blood flow and help counter Peyronie’s.

@kocour You actually went to the Mayo Clinic? I live too far for that unfortunately. You were prescribed Restorex, did your insurance cover the cost? Glad you had a positive result! Gives me hope!
