Anyone had experience with OsteoStrong, who is not a franchisee?

Has anyone had experience with OsteoStrong? It suggests you will get a large increase in bone density while using their facility 10 minutes per WEEK. Somewhat pricey at $99 and up per month, but am curious if anyone who is NOT a franchisee, has experienced this program?

Osteostrong seems too good to be true, and if they are "so good", I'd think they'd be FDA approved. I found a video online saying just that. I will try the yoga tapes, but with my deteriorating spine, I have to be careful. I continue to go the gym to work on core (core strenthening will help the spine), weight work and the treadmill.

Loren Fishman's yoga poses have modifications for osteopenia and osteoporosis. That should help!

Very appreciative of your research and reply to us all. Information is the key to understanding the options that are available to us. No one is the same when it comes to facing the daunting discovery of having osteoporosis..and that sinking feeling of "Now what"?
I've been following the threads of 'Connect' for quite sometime now..and I feel that the general consensus is that we don't do well with the Western pharmaceuticals en mass.....so what are our alternatives?
While trying to do our best in eating and daily exercise routines...are at best, wishful thinking..as our bones have no ego here...they either get what they need to stay strong..or they grow weaker as we age....unless we can manage to change that equation..without becoming a star athlete, PT or soothsayers.
NASA faced the problem of their astronauts developing bone loss from the lack of gravity..and man was that fast for many in the programs. They developed a way of giving back bone density to their astronauts by using vibration techniques..which showed great promise as well as better BMD scores.
While strenuous exercise is required to even begin to rebuild bone mass...so are the right supplements, as well as the correct amounts of calcium..to even begin to stimulate the bones to wake up and start to deliver more 'mass'. I fear that the reality of making major life changes for the oh so many in our age group..to be nothing short of impossible....so, what else could we be doing? While there are
'natural' supplements out there..where to start with those..when 'profit' is always the goals of any company....believing in what one company promises might bring hope and a mental high in thinking "oh this will work for me'".there doesn't seem to be an overriding consensus that any of these will actually help..and in a timely manner..as we are mostly considered to be 'elderly'....even if we don't 'feel' that to be true.
I would like to have more information as to the effects of the vibration techniques that are out there and available to the public. Businesses like OsteoStrong are gaining in popularity because of the many modalities they offer, I would imagine....again, knowledge....The science behind vibration therapy is extensive and available online....as are the many products that offer some hope for so many. Learning the differences between the frequencies and vibrations...cause and effect is the responsibility of the user...but gee..if NASA was interested enough to solve this problem for their own..then hopefully we can bring that bit of knowledge into our own homes.
Full disclosure...I do have an "OsteoStrong" facility in my small town in Southern Oregon...I am scheduled for an initial walk through complimentary hour this coming Tuesday....my main goal here is to see what they are doing....resistance training..as opposed to free weights...and also interested in their vibration machines..and at what frequency they are using them at.
My DEXA scores are far worse than any of the ones I've seen on this thread...being a -4 lumbar and -3 hips....oy.....but....I am without pain when I walk and dance and move around. I am taking a product called "GrowBone" and have followed their protocol for months now and will get another scan in July. I considered myself an athlete..still do...my tennis racket, pickleball equip always in my car and ready to play! I had to have a hysterectomy when I was 25, I'm 77 now...and took meds at the time that also decreased my bone mass....So here I am today...seeking ways of ameliorating my condition without the awful side effects that big Pharma has to offer. I will continue my research...if any of you have any better ideas..please inform! Bless you all...you give me strength!

I commented on another post somewhere, but this is to bunky44. I, too, have a DEXA score far worse than I have seen on any thread--even than yours! Mine is overall -5.1 and I am 72 years old. I had a hysterectomy at 35 and believe that is where this all started. I took estrogen for 10 years, but it caused chronic breast pain, so I stopped. It was a few years after that I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, but it didn't happen in those short years, so must have started while I was still taking estrogen. I've read that the greatest decrease in bone density happens within five years of menopause, so if that is true, even with surgical menopause, then by the time I was 40 I was entering the danger zone. A fall in 2021 prompted a bone density scan (which I had not had in years), and it was -4.5, so I joined Osteostrong and continued for the next 18 months. After a year my density was -4.7, but I continued because I believe that age and the level of bone density play a role in how long for improvement. I recently consulted with an osteoporosis expert in Massachusetts (flew there from Texas) and he advised me to not participate in Silver Sneakers senior exercise program or Osteostrong, because of the fragility of my bones. I didn't know it, but before my fall I had had several fractures (they can be silent). I did not want to take medication and have not until now. Tomorrow I pick up a prescription for Tymlos. The doctor told me I had no choice because of the severity and the bone loss needed to be halted right away. Have made so many lifestyle, diet, supplement changes, but the density still went down, so it's time to try this other approach. After the fall I saw a spine surgeon who told me his worst patients were 75-year-old women in terrible pain because their bones had dissolved and there was nothing he could for them. I'll continue the nutritional approach along with the Tymlos.

ok...I got cut off.....I don't know if you got the beginning of my message back to you...let me know...

Have you heard of Margaret Martin? She's Canadian...FULL of great info..and has now come out with her own version of a vibration platform that is a viable healing machine! A bit costly for me..but I've been watching her videos for years now..and shes the real thing. Please check her out before you make your final decision on taking the pharmaceutical. Oh..I also got, from LifePro..their far-infrared belt and I give myself that therapy on my thoracic area and then around my hips and then my knees. I noticed a few months ago that my posture was getting ugly...so I've been wearing a soft brace..more of a reminder to stand up straighter. All in all...I'm doing much much better than I was last year. Also doing Bone-up (6caps a day) and strontium..not taken together. Added in this year turmeric, chondroitin, CBD tincture when I'm in pain...I 'feel' that I'm healing my compression fractures...I'm not in the same relentless pain I was in after my 'day'....I haven't had to take anything stronger for my pain in a long time. Before I go to sleep and before I get out of bed in the am...I rest with my knees over a small pillow for at least 20 minutes...this has stopped all the lower back, hip pain I was having in the am!
If you didn't get the beginning of my post..let me know. I feel that places like OsteoStrong should be sued out of business for the harm they undoubtedly cause. I felt it when I 'pressed' 575lbs! Just crazy!...
I know it's not easy to keep a positive outlook on what we don't know....but it's important to do what we can do each day and not look back...today we need our full attention on ourselves and our healing. I can only add...listen to your inner voice(s) your higher self....be at peace with your decision. I wish you the best. I'm here for you....

I have been dealing with Osteoperosis since 2017, refused to do medication and wanted to treat it naturally, after trying lots of supplements that did not improve my Osteoporosis, I joined Osteostrong and added AlgeaCal to my diet in six months I went from Osteoporosis to Osteopenia, gaining 19.2% in my hips and 5.5% in my spine. I also noticed my balance and posture improved drastically, I am so glad I joined Osteostrong.

Hi,
I too have followed a natural route and had improvement two years ago . I just had a scan and my bone density is dropping. Do you think the AlgeaCal gave you such an increase or the Osteostrong?

I am 73 years old and have been diagnosed with osteopenia. I have been going to weekly Osteostrong sessions for almost 10 months now, and I’m hoping to see the good results in my next bone density scan in March 2023. I’ll be glad to share the results when I get the report.

I can wait to hear your results after a year of OsteoStrong. There isn't one in my city but I did visit an OsteoStrong when I was on vacation LOL just so I could check it out and see what it is all about. If there were one within 2 hours of my home I would be willing to make the commute weekly.

You mentioned that you have osteopenia. Are you just making lifestyle, including joining OsteoStrong and dietary changes to work on your bones or did you also opt for osteo-meds?

Again, can't wait to hear your DEXA results. I'm doing everything I can to improve my bones and I haven't completely ruled out moving so I could join OsteoStrong--others experiences with improved BMD, which are hard to find--would help me decide if it would actually be worth the move.

I am not taking any meds, but I do take 1000 - 1500mg calcium citrate (chewable) daily along with vitamin D3.
I don’t lift weights (other than Osteostrong) but I typically walk on average 20 miles a week. I’ve had to taper off due to osteoarthritis in my right hip and I am eliminating hills for now and walk about 10-12 miles a week. I’m seeing a surgeon next week about hip replacement.

A good place to find more information on OsteoStrong is in Tony Robbins' book Life Force. Keep in mind the book is a sales pitch for Tony's new health organization. However, he claims to use OsteoStrong. While he gives no actual study information, which makes everything he says about it "conjecture", it might be worth a trip to the library to get the book. There are also other programs, research, products, and valuable info in the book. Worth a read. Being 65, healthy longevity is a big goal of mine.

Thank you to the person who mentioned NASA using vibration to restore bone density to astronauts spending extended time in space. That is fascinating and I will do more research on it. NASA is very public with their research and I've contacted NASA employees before on other NASA research projects and they were very forthcoming. If I find out anything useful, I will post it here and also on my blog.

I use a vibration plate at home. They are low cost and mine runs for a choice of ten or twenty minutes. If nothing else, it's a great warmup before a workout.
