New heart med - Imdur

67 year old male heart patient. 2 stents. Have had mild chest discomfort with no other symptoms. Recently been prescribed Imdur . Anyone on it? Know anything about it and has it helped?

Those stents should really help your chest discomfort. I don't have them but those that I know that got them had dramatic improvement.

I don't have any information or knowledge of Imdur. You mentioned it was a new medication in your title post. I would like to know more about it myself.

Have you tried googleing it? What I do is google a medication and they use Mayo Clinic web post to look up the medication.

I had an angioplasty last week, my first stent, hopefully my last. My cardiologist prescribed Brilinta in addition to rouvastatin and low-dose aspirin. The procedure itself was painless but almost surreal. Since then I have been short of breath and have experienced headaches daily. I read that the Brilinta can cause those side effects! I did check in with my cardiologist’s office who said they can change the medicine to Plavix. I’m wondering if anyone has experienced Brilinta and these symptoms?

Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, it's for increased blood flow and I'm encouraged it will help .I was told my symptoms are non cardiatict and will be seeing my cardiologist in a few weeks to discuss it. I will report it on this site and thanks again .

Try looking it up on drugs dot com. (I am not allowed to post the actual URL.) That website provides "detailed and accurate information for over 24,000 prescription and over-the-counter meds". Includes info like Usage, Warnings, Side effects, dosage, etc. (Imdur is on there, I just checked.) You can also run an "Interactions Checker" to see if there are possible interactions with any medication(s) you might already be taking.

Drugs.com is my "go-to" whenever I am prescribed a new medication.
