Mayo Clinic Connect’s community continues to be active and engaging. Members are connecting and the discussions have dozens and hundreds of messages.
You asked: How can I find the most recent posts?
This led to a reformatting of the discussion threads and how you can control the order to read them.
1. Sort by Newest to Oldest or vice versa
You can view the messages in chronological order (Oldest to Newest) or you can choose to see the most recent messages first by selecting Newest to Oldest.
Mobile view
2. Pages
Many discussions have multiple pages. You can skip to the last page or click any page in the discussion.
3. Reply to a message
If someone has replied to a specific message, you will see who they responded to and a snippet of the beginning of their message.
Click +show and you will be able to see the message that Rosemary is replying to.
More helpful tips
Click -hide to close the message
4. Reply
When you post a reply your message will be added to the discussion either
– at the end if you are viewing Oldest to Newest
or
– at the beginning if you are viewing Newest to Oldest

Thanks, John. I've reported the issue to the tech team as well. This error is happening to posts that had images attached to them. It should be fixed today.

@johnbishop – the error has been corrected. You will now see uploaded images embedded directly in posts.

I don't see the buttons on my mobile. One says "First, Next, Last" and other "Newest to Oldest." Am I in the wrong window? Right now I'm using Chrome and using a Note 8 phone. I have other internet apps I can use (Foxfire, a couple of VPNs, Google, and Samsung Internet).

Hi @basslakeview — I think you can post it directly under the post by clicking the reply button under your post and just adding there. I don't think Mentors or Moderators are able to edit a members post but I'm tagging Colleen @colleenyoung to see if there is a way to do it.

Oh, good. I couldn't see but one. Maybe I didn't wait long enough.

@johnbishop John is there a new way to start z discussion? And when you reply to someone is it @ and the persons contact name? I know about recent and old but sometimes you find yourself when you see a discussion that it's what you want to see if someone has information on l find myself sometimes going to and old post. Do you think they will get rid of a text that's a year old?

Hi Lisa @techi, Starting a discussion is still done the same way by scrolling to the top of the window, clicking on the Group discussion name you are in and then clicking the Start a Discussion button. Yes, when you want to make sure a member receives an email notification you use the @ sign and his member name. The old text is not going away. The newest change to Connect was hopefully to make it easier to follow a conversation and make the posts a flat view that you can sort oldest to newest or newest to oldest. What's really nice now is when you see a post that you have not been following, it's easier to see the context and flow because it provides a link at the top of the post to let you know who the person was replying to in their post.
Hopefully it's helping members follow a conversation easier but it's like anything when there is a change. It might take a little time to get used to it.

Good morning Colleen! @colleenyoung – the changes look great. I did find one bug (bad post or conversion?) when I clicked on an email notification. I sent you an email but here is the link to the post directly above the bad one that is all html coding.
