Is anyone feeling any sharp stabbing nerve pain related to COVID?
Is anyone feeling any sharp stabbing nerve pain? Dr. said it was nerve damage due to Covid but then another Doctor who is a specialist in many fields says that it’s internal shingles. Has anyone experienced this pain before?
Thank you!

I lost my sense of smell around one year ago. Still not back. I have experienced Trigeminal Neuralgia on the left side of my face and parotitis in my right parotid gland. The latter caused severe shooting pains that put me in the ER. Determined to be viral, not bacterial. Long Covid???
Although depression can cause a variety of symptoms, I think it is wise to be open to other possibilities. I do not see a study being the topic of this thread, and I think it is perfectly reasonable to allow people to compare symptoms. Further, it is well known that Covid is associated with a multitude of neurologic symptoms. Links are not allowed, but the NIH has comprehensive information on "Coronavirus and the Nervous System," including peripheral neuropathy.

1 ReactionYES
Primarily in my feet. I also am experiencing a crawling sensation under my skin.
Yes. Stabbing quick pain in my heart that has increased as my activity increases or just laying in bed. Advised tissue and nerves have been damaged per ER and critical care pulmonary doctors who shared standard blood and imaging tests do not show. Inquire for further diagnostic soecialist tests thru your healthcare system as I was advised personal cardiology eval best for my post covid situation. Hope helpful🙂

1 ReactionI have a drop foot. The day after vaccination I get stabbing pain in the ankle. This continues every 10-15 minutes for approximately 12 hours.
Has anyone else experienced and addressed severe pain over a year post covid? I have sheets and points of sharp severe burning pain in one leg below the knee that has only been partly relieved by taking valacyclovir twice a day. That suggests viral. And i have greatly elevated EBV liters and inflammation since a reaction to the Moderna vaccine, that all worsened alot after a later bout of covid. Im seeing a good covid doc but no one knows what to do. Im on low dose naltrexone for covid and a low dose of Gabapentin for the internal tremors triggered by covid. And suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I wonder about internal shingles. Infectious disease docs wont see me as they say there's nothing they can do for EBV liters.
I get it too.
Are you being treated effectively? Im not sure what to try at this point, or even what kind of doc to see. If I cut back on valacyclovir, the pain is debilitating. EBV titers through the roof. I haven't a doc who wants to help with this.
Sharp stabbing pain is usually nerve pain… I am taking gabapentin twice a day for nerve pain and have been for the five years. I’ve had long Covid. I still get stabbing pain in my feet a few times a week but nothing like it used to be without the gabapentin. Please let your doctor know. You are still having significant nerve pain and see if there is something they can do to assist.
