For those who have used nebulizer for 7 percent saline, what brand do you recommend?

@diane36

Thank you, but my question re. brand referred to the nebulizer, not the solution.

@alleycatkate I have the Pari Eflow and it is fantastic, no tubes and 10 min nebulising. Heather

What serves in lieu of tubes Heathert?

@thumperguy it has an aerosol head in the handset-mouthpiece which converts the saline(also in the handset) to aerosol, very clever, very compact.

@heathert ...Hi Heather. That is good to know....No tubes sounds good to me!! I had not heard of that one and I certainly will check it out. Thanks...Hope you are feeling well and managing this crazy pandemic. Best to you, Kate

@alleycatkate Its fantastic, I was given one when I was in the trials for Amikacin- Arkirice, after the trial I bought my own, not cheap but good. Heather

No worries, Judy.

My daughter also uses the Pari Eflow and loves it. I favor the old green(ish) Pari Vios at home, and the more portable Devilbiss Traveler with rechargeable battery on the go. The Pari is noisier but faster.

Checked the price of Pari Eflow online, and it was nearly $1,000K, so won't be getting that one. Having "regular" nebulizer delivered today, primarily covered by insurance, but don't yet know the brand.

Help! For those of you who use the Pari Vios go-green compressor with the Sprint nebulizer, has the time you needed to nebulize 4 ml increased over the life of the system? I started out in about 2019/20 and it took about 7 minutes. Now, with my second compressor and new Sprint nebulizers, it takes almost 30 minutes to nebulize 4 ml of 7% saline. A year ago, it was about 15 minutes.

I find the Sprint nebulizers to be the cause of prolonged nebbing for me. It doesn't matter what compressor I use, it takes longer. And maybe I just don't know how to use it correctly, but by the time I am done, I feel like I have been running for 15 minutes. So, I went back to the old, cheap generic ones and I am happy.

I have Pari Green and Pro Neb from Pari. Used with sprint cups. I have found that how you clean them is the key. Soaking in vinegar will dissolve any build up from hard water. I also notice that since we had new tanks for our whole home water purification system installed that the cups are working even better. One of the tanks is a descaler for hard water (which we have). So now when I boil the cups for 5 minutes it is not an issue (the hard water). But could be your compressor is needing a swap. They will send you a new one for free if you call them. Or if the filter needs changing that can make a BIG difference. Both my systems only take under 10 minutes on average. To me they go too fast and I often use a second vile of saline since I need to nebulize for some time to get benefits!
