Hi @peach414144, my mom just had cataract surgery. Like you, she was told to call if she had any concerns. Your worsening symptoms are definitely worth calling your surgeon about, right away. There may be a simple reason or perhaps there is an underlying eye issue causing problems. You should find out. Please call your doctor and let us know what you find out.
Hello Colleen: Peach here. The Dr. who did the surgery on my eye will have nothing to do with me. He told me that after I told him of the pain and problems from the surgery. I then went to other doctors. I feel like I am hanging in the wind. I am not looking to make trouble if perhaps there was a mistake, a slip of the hand or whatever, but please help me from going blind. If this can be corrected in any way I am here for it.

Presuming this is something you are experiencing personally or affecting someone close to you, I'm wondering if you could share more about the macular pucker? Is is causing blurry or distorted vision?
Dear Ladies: Peach here. Here we go again::: I have just came back fro another opthamalogist One I had seen six months ago. He says that I have BOTH; macular degeneration and gloucoma along with extreme dry eyes. Well here we go again. One doctor states I only have gloucoma, the other doctor says I have both gloucoma and macular degeneration. I am shown pictures taken of my eyes to prove this. It would be nice to only have the one but to be correct I must address both diagnosis. The most recent doctor who is quite aged (hopefully has much experience) recommends I take omega 3, krill oil or flax seed vitamin D and an ocular formula such as Areds which I will do. Thank you dear Lord for the physicians. Any input to this is appreciated.
Hello Colleen. Peach here: The doctor will not address anything but his diagnosis of gloucoma.. Whenever I try to he cuts me off. Oh, but I do remember the last time I saw him I asked why can we not replace the interocular lens that started this problem and he said that the risk of going blind is very high. I have obtained copies of my three visits to him and am prepared to fax them to Mayo. But without a diagnosis that would require surgery Mayo cannot help. Am sorry to say the doctors in my area do not have the experience , (As wrong as I may be.) Originally when this problem started the docrors told me I have macular degeneration, then they added gloucoma to it. Now they have taken away macular and I have sever dry eyes with glocoma. I was 20/20 with no clouds or loss of vision and no pain until Dr. Hunt removed the so called cataract. Right away, as soon as the bandages were removed. I am not looking to sue anyone I just want to be able to see. Hopefully this can be. Stressed, anxieties, but hopefully holding on. And realizing that perhaps
nothing can be done.. Must learn to live in a darker world but will continue to caress my pets. Oh, by the way my other eye has been mostly blind 20/300 since birth so this is why I am so concerned about this eye. Love to all Peach
Here we go again. Tomorrow, 9/6/18 I will have 2 stents placed in my body (lower abdomen). The veins have flattened in my legs. If I make it you will be hearing from me again. If not all you beautiful people will be remembered with prayers. Love you all. Peach
Sorry to come out of the blue with this but: I contracted septicemia after having three stents placed in the iliac veins. wound up in the hospital for five days receiving intravenous antibiotics and then sent home. I think there should be some kind of aftercare but there was none. Now I feel like it might have come back so I will go to the E.R. in the morning, Why has there not been a better way to complete the care? This is deadly. No one seems to care or know what to do.

Oh dear, @peach414144. That must have been scary. And now you feel like the infection is coming back. Upon release from the hospital, were you given any written information to follow? What symptoms are you having now that make you believe infection has returned.
You're quite right that sepsis (sometimes called septicemia) is very serious and can be fatal. Did you go to ER? Please don't take any chances.

My husband just had cataract surgery in his right eye on June 30 2021. His eye is still blurry and red. Hi. Thanks for answering me. He is in good health so no health issues. We already saw the dr after cataract surgery and he thought it would be better by now. The cataract was big and dr knew about the pucker. The dr is also wondering about the drops after surgery. Jim’s eye was still red. He reduced the2 of the drops. Hopefully this will clear up. I will try to keep you informed.
